1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Actually Aris made a video lately, where he shows that it is good idea for everyone to start with safe setup and make it a bit more aggresive here and there instead of starting with aggressive one and trying to make it safer.

Totally agree. I have some experience in car setups. Not much but still some. Was building a Formula Student car a few years back (low weight, loads of downforce, full electric). Was in charge of self driving AI. Helped build the first driverless formula in the country. Got me interested in racing in the first place.

Was just wondering if somehow it's possible to gain seconds via the setup.

Not from that far back. You might change something so you feel a bit more confident with the car, but what ultimately gains you time at that stage is getting the lines, corner speeds and acceleration points closer to where they should be. Aris did a test after a race he made a setup for: the next day, he drove the aggressive preset just with adjusted tyre pressures - same laptimes. So his improvements didn't really come from the setup, but from getting to know the car and track better...

Well it all depends on how good/bad is the initial setup. I am not an expert but in ACC the provided setups are considered good, except for a few cases (for instance I drive the Porsche and it needs a bit more wing or front ride height to be balanced). Still, a setup can gain you precious time because if you are able to exit corners marginally faster this is adds up, and many times 2-3 tenths a lap are the difference before top and midfield.

There is one important thing, though: in ACC, even people saying that they are using the "standard" setups are at the very least adjusting 1) tire pressures 2) brake pads 3) traction control, ABS, brake balance. That is something you need to do, otherwise you will be slow. Tire pressures in dry conditions should stay between 27.5 and 28 and in the wet at about 30 for GT3 cars, if you don't adjust them you may find yourself unable to attack the corners as the tires don't "stick" and make you lose plenty of time. Brake pads: at Monza I discovered that simply using brake pads 1 instead of 2 gains me at least 3 tenths over a lap because the track has 4 heavy braking corners. Traction control: this is very important because you want to "floor" the gas as early as possible when exiting the corners and you want the car to accelerate smoothly; too much TC slows you down, too little makes the tires slide and slows you down too.

It is possible, but, when you learn the track lines properly, braking points, acceleration points. There is plenty of videos on YouTube for every track on ACC where they discuss all major points you need to know about the track. You can have best setup in the world but if you don't know the track...

Also, you must have optimal tyre pressures, as Guidofoc suggested. That's where this guide, from OP, comes in handy.

One more important thing. Maybe the car isn't suitable for your driving style. Some cars i can't even drive properly on track that i know, and with others i am blisteringly fast.

    Hi Gents,

Regarding damper setup, i tend to disagree with the "rule" to have the middle peak at 12%. this is highly dependent on the settings of the graph and specially the width of the histogram intervals below 2 example of the same data with just 2 different histogram intervals:

    upload_2021-8-9_17-29-13.png upload_2021-8-9_17-30-24.png

as you can see with the samples number, and values above graph, this is exactly the same data, just with a different graph setting.

to me what matters mainly is to get all 4 values closest to 25%, and then the avg damper speed tells you how soft or stiff your damper is

Yeah, thanks, i will add that info to v3 when it comes out. Not at the moment, too much life and racing interfering with it :D
