1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Stability control, drifting, snapback/tankslapping

    Hi all,
I wanted to start a small discussion on Stability control because currently I dont think its as good as it should be. However, maybe i am misunderstanding. Also, please dont take the as a criticism too much. I love Assetto Corsa and really want to help improve the sim :).

I was doing a bit of drifting the other day (bmw e92 with drift setup and 35% stability control). On the exit of the corner with the throttle at 90% revs; the car snapped back on me, shoving me into the wall. This is unrealistic of a real car drifting (source: i drift). With the throttle at 90% you aren't going to be hitting the limiter (which *can* cause the wheels to regrip) and you aren't going to regrip naturally as you are holding the revs at 90%, they aren't moving slow enough to regrip just yet.

So, i did some testing, i lowered the stability control to 0%. At this point i found the car extremely hard to control. It was like it was on ice, no grip while drifting, it just wanted to spin. I couldn't hold a drift well enough to test the snapping issue.

I finally did one more test, at 5% i found the car was still very slippery (slightly more grip than 0%) and the snap back / tank slapping issues were almost gone.

My concern is, why do i lose so much grip when stability control is on 0%? Surely, stability control would be doing more with adjusting the weight than the traction. Maybe its the weight of the BMW causing the traction issue, i dont know.

To sum up, with stability control on low, the car has unrealistic tank slapping / snapback issues and with it off the car feels like it has very little grip.

I'm playing on 0% stability control and i have no issues drifting. I did have problem with the FFB so i lowered it to 90% and it works like a charm.
