1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Does anyone else think that the online lobby races are too long I mean 10 laps would take a while to race and people keep quiting.

I don't. I actually wish there were longer races. Besides, it takes me a few laps to get into the groove.

I think they are fine but they could do with a few 3 and 4 lap servers. That's where most of the rubbish drivers would probably end up too.

  5. I like the longer races too. I always saw more crazy driving in short races in other games because you don't have the time to wait for a good place to pass without letting the leaders get too far out front. Most of the quitting takes place within the first few laps anyway.

Excellent point. A good way to sort out the punters without taking any overt action against them...lol.

You've got a point it's just that the races I've done everyone apart from the top three racers quit towards half way hardly anyone left on the track. I think they should add a few lobbies for quick races

I agree all the crashing behaviour seems to happen in the first couple of laps and then people quit - the only issue is if you get damage it does spoil things a bit. If 15 people start 5-8 finish in my experience. Hopefully private and custom lobbies where you can make these choices for yourself will be part of an update.

I think the current 5 lap and 10 lap races are fine too, although I would like to see 20+ laps too!

I guess we have to wait for the inclusion of open lobbies for that though.

  10. The advantage of long races are the fact it gives you a chance to make up ground if you spin or get a bad start. OFten a short race is over at the start, a long one has time to evolve.

Besides, 10 laps isn't all that long. We'll be racing tonight at Barca which will be 23 laps (40 mins), a sprint race from start to finish.

How did you manage to set the console online laps to 23?

I like to have options.. sometimes I only have a short time left to race and a quick 3-5 lap sprint is just the trick. Sometimes the 8-10 lap races that take 20-25mins are perfect. Sometimes, but not very often, I would like to do a 1+hr race with a tire and fuel strategy.

What I am getting at here is they need to allow the first person in the room to set the options .. we need options.

Generally the OP is correct though, for a majority of the public room console racers, 6-10min races is what they want and enjoy. Then on to a different track/car to race again. What many would really enjoy is a "shuffle style" .. hint hint.

I quite like the race distances however get annoyed at the starts. Sometimes your race is ruined by turn 2 :(

When time us short 3 laps would be perfect waiting for a game to have penalties for collisions

Yeah, about that hahhaa....:rolleyes:Same old same old. Ten laps is fine for some races and cars but when it's 2+ mins per lap in a slow boring car it gets old fast. They did not think at all about the fact that it was a new game and people need time to learn and adjust to many aspects. Shorter races for more tracks, races without wear/damage and more control over assists should have been implemented to help get familiar with online situations and cars/tracks etc.. before throwing everyone into mainly 5-10 lap races considering there isn't even voice chat. Honestly it just feels like single player without chat and with the AI being how it is, you're likely to get cleaner racing too. I love an enduro as much as the next motorsports fan but you don't just throw novices into endurances.

A race should be more than an hour for strategy.
If not and want some quick fun, 30' race should do the trick ( talking about laps is not enough since you have vallelunga club with 1' lap time and spa with 2' 30" lap time)
