1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Use Replay/External View to Your Advantage!

  1. Ive been putting in the hours on the track trying to get my times down. Watch YouTube videos from guys faster than me, look at the lines/break points and go back in the sim. I felt like I was hitting a wall on my times. I went into replay mode and used external view to get a different perspective and WOW! What I thought was on the edge of the track in cockpit was at times a few feet from the edge in external view! I couldn't believe how much track I was leaving.

So I've been doing some laps from external view and getting right up on the track limits and then sit in cockpit view in replay mode to see how it looks from the inside. I'm gaining tenths of seconds in some corners just by using more of the track.

So if you havn't done so, view your laps in external view and pay attention to the apex's. You may be surprised by what you thought was right on the apex, in reality may not be

You have to learn from inside the cockpit the track limits, generally you can use the windshield and dashboard as a ruler to measure how much you have left of the car to use in the edge of the apex, generally is by half of the windshield you are getting near the edge of the tyre on the curb, yeah kinda odd my system but i hit the track limits with no problem knowing that when the curb/track limit lines are getting near the center of the windshiled i'm close to hit the track limit with the tyre, dunno how many racers do the same

BTW, what car and track are you getting problems?
so far i'm 1s off from all the records on all combos and i'm a casual racer

At last weekend's Rolex 24, someone(Alonso I think) said that if he missed the apex by just 1 inch he lost grip.
Another tip I've been giving is that if the curb has rubber on it- hit it. You can see the graphical difference between a green track and a rubbered in track.

You drive your real car from external view???:D

    ITs a YOKE!!!
Like guy above said you got to learn your car... try going closed and closer until you hit the wall or scrape it :D same goes for the curbs

Using external view doe help ofc but againg it is all to personal preference

I don't think the OP is advocating driving with external view, but validating your lines and learning from the replay afterwards.

Which is a valid strategy and valuable tool regardless of your experience or skill.

It's like watching tape after a game in any sport.

It's a good point. I've been vaguely aware that in cockpit view, I don't really have a good feel for how close I am to the edge of the track.

Depending on the fov and the distance you set from the cockpit you have to find different reference points to know where your wheels are on the track. Watching the replay from different angles can help finding those .

  11. Yeah definitely not saying to drive from external view. At least not for races or during serious laps. Like was said, just use it to validate your lines. The Ferrari gives me the least problems due to its visibility and size. But in a car like the M6, there were certain corners that I felt like I was really on the apex and in replay I saw I was a few feet away
