1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

+/- for all when it comes to price, viewing angles, response time, lighting & colours.. I personally don't think you will have ghosting issues with a 144hz 1440p VA panel. Maybe older 60hz VA panels had these issues. TN panels are expensive particularly at this size and resolution.

I use the AOC AG352UCG6 3440 x 1440 with G-Sync. Overclocked it has 120Hz, but then the first line flickers. Therefore I use it with 100 Hz. I only have the comparison to an old Benq with TN Panel 60Hz and a Samsung 4k TV IPS with HDMI and 60 Hz. Compared to the old monitor the AOC is worlds better. ACC is not really nice on the old Benq. There it smears and colors are very pale. The AOC has super black values for my opinion, but is still bright and has nice colors. From 60 FPS with overdrive on, the "ghosting" is manageable. At 100 FPS it looks of course much sharper. What you should mention is that my AOC has no sharpness setting. So you have to rely on it for drivers or software. NVIDIA now has a sharpness setting in the driver. But if you plug in a PS4 or whatever, you don't have anything to adjust the sharpness. What's best for me on the new monitor is G-Sync. I don't want to do without it anymore, so you are not bound to any Hz number. Compared to the Samsung TV. The TV has its advantages because of the size and 4K, colours, picture, contrast, everything super. But the 60Hz, the slow display, the very strong smearing when cornering is too demanding on my eyes. Other games look great on TV, but racing games are nothing for me. Also, driving on the monitor, at 100FPS, feels much smoother. I can recommend my AOC, but I have no comparison to other new monitors.

I had an ACER Predator 35", 144 Hz GSync, VA monitor and it was terrible. The ghost ing/smearing was a complete game breaker. from about 120 FPS down the image was unusable. Viewing angle was also ridiculous. That's why I resorted to a much lower refresh rate IPS monitor.

I recommend to go for IPS.

I have a 60Hz AOC 1440p VA panel. Better response time than IPS (close to TN), good viewing angle, better blacks and no ghosting on mine. The ghosting problem was mainly with the early panels and the newer models are much better. See: https://pcmonitors.info/articles/lcd-panel-types-explored/. Modern VA panels have almost all of the advantages of IPS and TN panels with very few disadvantages. I would definitely go for another VA panel if I needed to change monitors.

I personally prefer IPS panels for their accuracy but things have gotten so good over the past few years they're all pretty close.

I must admit that the issues I had were with a 2015 or 2016 model. So I can imagine how things got a lot better ever since. Still, the monitor had very good reviews back then and none of them reported of severe blur. So I remain sceptical and will try before buy with the next monitor. It'll be a while though as I'm still very happy with mine.

You’re correct that IPS panels should have more accurate colour reproduction (but lack the blacks and response time of VA). However, you’d probably only notice it if you had them side-by-side and both had been calibrated with a hardware calibration device. Even then, for gaming I think that you’d struggle to notice any significant difference with decent quality panels.

Yeah that's exactly how I approach it when people ask. They're all so good these days that it will work. As long as you're not buying bottom of the barrel monitors they'll all do the job decently. It's when you start getting into the design world where it becomes more of a concern.

I'm using a PA panel Asus PB278Q. Mainly because I couldn't fit anything wider in the space I have, it's a decent monitor for now and eventually I plan on switching to a Valve Index, when I can actually get my hands on one.
