1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Lap time and frustration

I don't know if it also happens to you but sometimes I see lap times that make me want to throw the steering wheel out of the window. If for example I drive in 1.46 ad hungaroring I think it's a good time. quite right? Mistaken. because there is always the person who quietly says 1.43. What? I pushed the car to the death, to the limit of the grip, I removed the paint from the exit curb, brake where I have to brake, I accelerate where I have to accelerate, same distance of curve. Ok I know, there are people with a higher driving sensitivity and something more than the others but 3 seconds a ride is like I'm driving to the supermarket. Yet many times I got good placements: some p1, many p2, p3 and p4 .. and 9 times out of 10 I reach the first 6. But that's not the point. Is that the former are unapproachable. Not talk to me about practice, I've been driving for a lifetime. What is your experience in front of those who say in Monza you may simply drive in 1.45/ 46? apart from hoping that they take the current from the steering wheel ... LOL.

It is always like that, As Master Jedi Qui-Gon jinn said "There is always a bigger fish"

Those who made those times are the famous aliens, Aliens are the ones who made the WR on Racing games, You cant compete with then unless you are a alien yourself
the best you can do is ignore then and move on, Is frustrating yes TOTALY but nothing you can do, they are on another level of racing sim

Jup comparing with best drivers can be frustrating, of course
But if I hit absolute new personal best it is just satisfying no matter what Aliens can do, and no matter how good mylaps are, I Always feel the limit of car and track is not reached yet, and this feeling motivates everytime to get back behind wheel and give it a go

i just care about my own achievements mostly, but i do take part in the online events, i am not super quick nor am i super slow, i am usually in the top 5%-10% in hotlaps albeit anywhere between 1.5 -3.0 Sec slower than number 1. Usually find myself in a better place on a wet track.
I was in MP the other day and really hated the track i landed on, Silverstone lol, and knowing that i am slow on it, i thought that i would be wasting my time, but in race conditions we were all doing 1.59's. i watched the replay from the guy behind me POV, where he was pushing me non stop. from that i can see where i can improve etc..

The funny thing is some of those aliens melt like a sugar block in a long (or not so long) race. Consistency is also very important.

Thanks for your answers. I liked them a lot and they make me feel less scarce. I never thought or wanted to be among the first. In the events I place myself between p400 and p700 on 2/3000 people. But I wonder how they do it? I have tried the Monza T1 a thousand times, in all possible and imaginable ways, but I always go slowly. Can't be razed to the ground with a bulldozer?

I dont't think that they are using better steering wheels or something like that. But there are many Youtube videos with alien-lap times, have you already compared yourself with them? What are they making diffrent?

Edit: With standard aggressive Setup o_O

All! Lol... yes in YT videos they drive the same i take a coffe. Turn here... brake here... gas here. They entry in turn very very early with a millimetric calculation. They turn the steering wheel one hour before the turn. Frustration

Maybe best for you to provide a video of a lap showing steering and pedal inputs, maybe even some telemetry. If you provide some data of your laps Im sure some here will be able to point out where you can find some time.

I wouldnt even look at setup as I think some cars can get into the 43's at hungaroring with default agressive in good track and weather conditions.

Quite often if your trying real hard then it could be just overdriving and lack of consistancy that causes you to lose a fair bit of time. What CC and CN ratings are you usually at?

If its not overdriving then maybe its a bit underdriving but in sims I think thats quite rare for people a few seconds off pace.

I'm not at home and can't answer to my rating.. they go up and down. More or less around 80. My CN is not bad and this is the reason i have often a good place at the end of the race. My best rating is SA (touched 96) now 90, this is my proud.

  14. I use to think this guy or that is just faster because they have better equipment wheels/peddles and such. But after watching so many guys with wheel/foot cams this is not the case, many of the very fast people just have very basic low cost setups. My guess is that like anything else in life, fast laps/times come from years and years of experience.

Sure! My top total was around 9100, Pace was 75, today 53 (??). RC is even 60 last three/four mounths, never 59 never 61 only 60.

EDIT: this is the actual with more correct PACE

How are you doing your qualis? how much fuel? i usually do qualis on 20l of fuel..enough for like 4-6 laps (depends from car to car also..) and i can get to 53`s Hungaroring on 20l easy

also what setup are you using?

  18. Not long ago a bunch of us were watching one of those 24 hour races, were everyone on the team gets a go. Anyway were all commenting how good this one guy was on the team, turns out he was 12 years old. He was turning out laps that made us all standup and take notice, he is a talented young man.

In Qual I use race setup fuel. My setup is stable with some adjustament, not many.

  20. D.Jankovic

    D.Jankovic Alien

And i believe that is where you loose that time... try doing qualis with 20l of fuel and see how it goes..can you get near the Pole times.. ofc for race you put as much fuel as needed for race.. with couple of laps extra..

Also switch to Agressive setup and go for it.with your ratings you should be able to push with aggressive setup

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try to use aggressive setup because i never gave importance to this but probably i'm wrong.
