1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Crew Chief Beta

All the stuff in the beta will be part of the full release. I have 2 remaining bugs to look at (missing race end message and spurious wheel spin message) and a bit of stuff to look at regarding pace notes in rfactor2, and then it's all ready.

I'm not sure when the 1.0.7 acc beta release is supposed to go live - I'd prefer to wait for that so I don't have to explain to cc users that the need to opt into the public beta, hopefully it won't be long

Fremen_78, Chriss, Serge M and 10 others like this.
  2. I'd prefer to wait for the off. release of 1.0.7 too. Especially for the 1.0.7 server before reporting CC online issues.
Will CC be able in the future to replace all the messages of the race engineer of ACC?

I know I said I wouldn't release any more test versions, but as I'm not sure when ACC 1.0.7 will go live and I fixed some important stuff that needs to be tested online, here's a test version. Yay :)

    http://crewchief.isnais.de/CrewChiefV4-4.9.8.17_beta.msi

    Three main improvements:
1: the spotter will now continue to work on the last lap - previously he was wandering off for a fag or something as soon as the race timer hit zero (which was a bit unhelpful)
2: race positions are now derived rather than read from shared memory / UDP - I'm just using the lapsCompleted + splinePosition here for each car. I've tested this offline *only* - if the game is sending duff data for either of these values in online races then this will be 'bad'. If it's sending accurate data then the app will see race position changes immediately rather than having to wait for the leaderboard to be updated - would appreciate it if someone could test that the position information is accurate online (you can use the voice command "what's my position?" to check)
3: race end messages should be fixed

the wheelspin messages are fixed too

and maybe some other stuff - the race end and spotter fix probably impacts a lot of stuff in the 'checkered' phase of the race (time remaining = 0 but race still ongoing)

Thank you Jim for the improvement; I just tried a quick race and got the message of the ending of the race (my position) with the last version and when the timer hit zero ( I was beginning the last lap)

  5. Jim Britton

    Jim Britton Hardcore Simmer

"and when the timer hit zero" - does that mean you got *two* end of session messages? :(

Now with ACC I am using CrewChief for the very first time. What an absolutely brilliant app. Not only is it so helpful for me as a VR driver, it also adds so so much to the immersion. Pushing the radio button and talking to your engineer just kills it! <3

Now what I would like to know: is there a list somewhere with all the available voice commands?

there is a help button, isn’t there? The one I mostly love (in iRacing) is the “fuel to end” one ;-)

@Jim Britton , few clarifications. As I use CC for 3 other sims, are there any (if so, major) changes if I use this beta instead of the current v4.9.8.8? If none, then I'd just have to copy my startup parameters from that version to this beta, for those other sims? Thanks!

  10. Jim Britton

    Jim Britton Hardcore Simmer

The beta changes the way properties are handled. There are a few bug fixes and improvements in other sims that are part of the beta so I recommend using the beta for all your sims. I'd have released this to live already if acc 1.0.7 was out of beta

Thanks for the info, now installed the beta. One more thing, how do I use the parameter to limit the games to appear (as it requires a text, thought there'd be a flag for each game to indicate whether to show it or not).

  13. Jim Britton

It's just a comma separated list of the games you want to be shown. The names don't have to be exact - something like

acc, rf2, r3e, iracing, assetto corsa, ams

    Should work here

FYI. Online last night, I noticed that when crossing the line I would get a message telling me my position, but this would occasionally be out by one or two places compared to the MFD (which appeared correct). Also, in one instance it was giving the name of the driver ahead, but was giving the wrong name (someone in the race, but not the actual car ahead).

  15. It might be related to the server version you was racing on. It's seems CC works better at 1.0.7 server as at 1.0.6 server. Also I don't think CC will be able to handle all names online correctly becase of variety. I don't know how it work in other games (e.g.iRacing).

Ah, ok. I'm not sure if it was an 0.6 or 0.7 server, but I'm running 0.7 locally. To be honest, I'm impressed that CC does bespoke names in MP at all. The name it gave last night, which I now can't recall, was not your average 'Dave' or 'Bob' either. What struck me first was how impressed I was that it had the name in its register. Very impressive.

  17. There's no need for any kind of sorry. You work is very much appreciated :)

Exactly this. Atm I'm running CC at volume 100 and the ACC race engineer at 50 (just to get the messages too which CC can't handle atm) and the difference in immersion between both is massive.

I expect that some of these won't work with acc due to missing or broken data from the game. Most will be ok but if the app responds with "we don't have the data" when you know it *should* have the data, then that command is probably not supported in acc (yet...). If the app doesn't respond at all (just silence) then that's a bug in cc - please tell me about it. It the app says "pardon?" then either your mic isn't working well, you used the wrong words, or you need to stop chewing gum :)

I’m using the beta 1.07 and in Sp it is fine, but CC goes silent in Mp.
