1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

as long as you can push the rating ( SA/RC ) on singleplayer its useless...

The driver categories are not based on drive time.

But you probably know that already and you're trying to say something else. But what exactly?
If you're trying to say that the total rating (TO) essentially appears to be based on driving time (which it is not), then suggesting the use of racecraft (RC) - which will only ever increase and never decrease - will actually make the categories based on driving time.

I would base it on the PC rating only.

And so those people like myself that don’t bother much with Special Events stay Bronze, no matter how fast, safe and competitive we are online?

Maybe they would start bothering then.

Wasn't aware RC only went up. Perhaps another one of the stats?
iRacing and GT Sport have found it as a way to create more. competitive, less chaos races. It's a formula that works and may attract more drivers.
While I pretty much only race in ACC, leveraging a best practice that works wouldn't hurt. Would love to see all the servers full.

Are you maybe confusing the RC rating with the CP rating?

How would my taking part in a completely unrelated facet of the game make your multiplayer experience better?

Whether or not you’re fast on-track isn’t dependent on whether you are AM or PRO in real life, and it shouldn’t be any different here.

If I see an AM car ahead of me on track, it indicates to me that that driver is inexperienced in ACC and may not have as good spatial awareness, may not understand lapped-traffic customs, and may not exhibit good car control while being passed for position. These are eminently more important factors for me than how fast they are hotlapping tracks (in varied cars) in offline Events.

System is fine as it is, IMO

The only rating that only goes up is TR. If you race with drivers with a lower RC and they manage to stay in front you are loosing RC

That’s probably one of the worst to base it on, hot-lappers would suddenly get the best ratings even if they’d never raced against another car???

I got my silver rating before doing any online race at all. So then when I finally started racing people online, I was “silver”, but definitely still a risk factor for others.

Whilst I like the categories, I think they should be based on online races only. Makes no sense for a complete noob to online racing to be ranked silver.

Forcing? The driver category means nothing. It's just cosmetic. You can play the game at its full capacity and stay at Bronze level.

But right now the driver category it's not useful to know if the guy ahead is faster or not. I am platinum driver but my pace is far from the top. How useful is that? :)

The most I deserve is silver. But most probably bronze.

Ok. Then make it a mix of RC and PC if you want. Maybe add some influence of SA.

And by the way, you don't get PC only by hotlapping, you get it also with hotstints.

Why do you need to know if the people around are "quick" or not? You can work that out by monitoring the gaps in the current race much better than any long standing ranking.

I find it useful to know how experienced they are with the game. As someone said earlier, if you see an AM you know to give them more space.

I think currently the system works on total rating, so it takes into consideration all rating types anyway.

Funny enough the actual difference between AM and Pro is whether your primary occupation is race car driver or not. AM Cars are limited to Bronze and Silver rated drivers, while PRO is Gold and Platinum.

Keep in mind its subjective and determined by the FIA. So like I can't just go out and quit my job and say I'm a race car driver and be Gold rated pro. If I go to them with little experience, no wins etc, I'm going to get put into Bronze. A lot of competition licenses are by word of mouth. For example when I got my IMSA license 15 years ago while I met the requirements, I had no results at all, they required references which they checked with and included my instructors at Skip Barber. They approved me and I got my license.

To go from AM to PRO you need a combination of being an actual race car driver as your job, and having the results to back it up. The full outline is available here:

You’re still lapping on your own. The way it’s calculated now seems fine imo.
