1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Crikey what is this Race Department!? Are we not allowed to discuss different aspects of the Sim whether they are or are not in the Sim? #RollEyes

I think some guy just released some kind of ACCtracker to have a report of every session on HTMl or XML format, maybe it could be useufl for you.

I was responding to a couple in this thread clearly not wanting discussions to take place on the subject.

So basically you mean a hot lap simulator? Even as of now, without cars getting stuck in gravel traps or the track getting dirty because of oil, debris (other than brake markers and cones) or gravel, there are some good reasons to include a safety car. What about a start behind the SC in heavy rain conditions (e.g., Hungary 2019)? Heavy rain is possible to a degree in the sim, where it could definitely be argued that a normal flying start is not a safe option. For sure, the SC is not the most pressing need at the moment, but I think it's perfectly valid to discuss features beyond car physics in a simulation that simulates a real world series. Why would we bother with the real world bop otherwise? Surely, a better balance would be possible with the testing capabilities in a simulator.
I find it quite astonishing that Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix series still is state of the art regarding some of its simulated elements that are not directly linked to the driving: the idea of the timing screen and some race statistics (lap charts and stuff), the pit crew (not only during pit stops), the implementation of limited tyre sets, the weather forecast, even the damage model, ...

For instance, the timing screen in ACC has so much more potential, especially regarding driver swap races. Imagine a track map that localizes all the other cars on track while being in the pits...

Remember. With GTR2 there were already 2006 race starts behind the safety car. That shouldn't be too complicated to implement and I don't see any disadvantages for this either. However, it would give a further boost to immersion.

You guys seem to forgot Kunos is a small group of people and their focus lies on other things. It's already been said there won't be FCYs and SCs. It takes too much time and it's complicated to develop features like these which arguably won't even increase the racing experience but are just there to please a small group of people for 'immersion's' sake.
During the 12hr Suzuka race Minolin explained how hard it is to even code proper yellow flag behavior and wondered if that's even a feature they would want to have in the game at all. Sometimes things in real life racing don't always have a positive effect on the online experience.
It was said they could spend their time on a lot more useful stuff, and I agree 100%.

SC and FCY are overrated and unneeded.

Yeah the yellow flag pops up and then goes green in one second just because a car ahead touched the sand. FCY would keep blinking in and out the whole race as there are cars in the gravel everywhere.

Ok, all the teams do trackwalks before a race weekend, it completely kills the immersion not being able to do this, they have a fps-shooter engine anyways. It can't be complicated to implement this, probably just a checkbox somewhere :D

For me a SC phase in sims is more like rubberbanding with extra steps. I hated this at NfS most Wanted so much.

  11. checking a public forum to find different info than the ones provided on official media about an update you don't know when it will be released must be very frustrating.
    I understand your disappointment.

Let's maybe start with small steps first like race calendar, then we can move to the 2nd most important, being either the trackwalks or SC. When this is done and there is enough liveries available as well, we can take a brief look at MP stability and such :D

Concerning SC, ok I'll give em that. But concerning a pace car I can't believe it's so hard to do that and it would add a lot of immersion especially for replays or viewers in a stream. Only thing I can think of is a licencing limitation, but other than that I don't understand why it's not in the game or shouldn't be added at some point..

There are certrain limitations to other obvious stuff that shouldn't be like that and I think it's mostly an engine problem...like:
    - no dirt on track
    - (real) light cones, sparks, glowing brake discs and pit crew only for your own car, not for others.
    - no 'official' driver change and therefore ofc no animation of it (was teased in the very first trailer, so it at least was planned)
    - traveling shadows
    - popping trees
    - etc

So what I'm trying to say here is that no racing simulation quite gets to a point of a very lively race track (maybe AC1 with mods because there are so many I don't know all). That's why something as simple as a pace car (I mean it must be simply, since they have AI that do much much more complicate stuff then just go for one lap and box) would still add to the livelyness of a track if you have to sacrafice other stuff to the engine...

Lol obviously it would most likely be quite simple to just deploy a slowly driving AI car. But that is the smallest part of implementing a safety car. What you need to think is all the other logic it needs to work, for example making a system that calculates when it is necessary to deploy the safety car. Then of course there is getting the cars to line up behind it correctly, penalties and everything else to consider. Just making a model of a safety car and giving it a line to follow around a track is not going to magically turn it into a real safety car feature.

Also i don't know how immersive it is to follow a safety car for literally no reason. Imagine there is a huge wreck on some corner, ten seconds later there will be zero signs of anything ever happening. As people drive off or teleport to the pits. So then you will be stuck driving behind a safety car on a completely clean and safe track with nothing going on. Real immersive right...

He's talking about a pace car, not safety car. The pace car just starts the race basically. Wouldn't mind seeing that in game, don't care too much that it isn't in the game tho.

Yea man, you misunderstood. I'm not eager for a SC implementation. It would be really nice, but I understand that it's not easy to do. I was only talking about the pace car which at the start of races would imo do a lot to let it look like the real thing you know?

  17. SimGuy_1

    SimGuy_1 Alien

Even as a pace car they will have to buy a official license which would be terrible decision, since they would have to sell the pace car to make profit (which players won't be able to drive)
Overall pretty messy idea at this point.
    OR
they could create a meme box car as pace car
