1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Who uses ssd to run ac

Are you using shadowplay? Is there any benefit on putting the videos on SSD? Cause Like 1H is 300Gb's on any other program. :D So yeah...

Well, yeah. But it is more due to how you record.

I do use shadow play, but here is how I do it.

C:/ is an SSd for OS, and shadowplay, as well as drivers.

D:/ is an SSD for some games, but mostly to record to.

S:/ is for games, and most the games I play and record are here.

So I'm not loading a drive down with all this data. Everything is separate. It keeps everything totally fast. I lose nearly no FPS while recording.

    Actually, that's not quite true.

    1) There are games with only several files where SSD can bring massive boost in both loading times and even in game FPS (due to live loading of new data during gameplay)

For example Diablo 3 (especially before optimalization patch) was loading several times quicker on SSD and after the initial load there was no impact on frame rate during gameplay, while on HDD due to live loading the game would bog down even for several minutes after start of the gameplay on slower HDDs.
The game runs of only ~10 main "mpq" files around 3-1gb each.

Notably inside these large, several gigbyte files there are still thousands of smaller files. In the end it's up to developer to create a loading system that works efficiently and can take advantage of SSD's and blizzard did a great job on that.

On the other side there are games like KSP or Xenonaus that have thousands of small files to load (each visible in windows), and the long loading times are almost the same on both SSD and slowish HDD even thou in theory SSD should be much faster. (Xenonauts in particular have +62000! files spanning less than 3gb and load times on SSD still quite long and comparable to HDD.)

    2) Life time limited by writes is not a real problem either. Even with very heavy rewriting of data the drive will be able work for many years. (Normally manufactures talk about upwards of 10 - 20 years under heavy loads, and i've read some estimates that even on non-stop write load (24/7 for whole years, which is very unlikely scenario) the drive could survive ~5years. That's probably more than chaper HDD could handle.

More on topic thou, from what i tested half a year ago just after steam release, loading times of AC were slightly better on SSD, but not much. Idk right now thou, things might improved a little. (Still AC has the awesome loading times compared to other sim titles.)

Also one neat trick to do when having small SSD is to move some less important game data to other disks and create "hard links" so that the program can use it, thinking it's accessing the original game location on SSD.
For example i have 11gb of AC replays stored on HDD even thou original AC save directory is on SSD (in My documents)
There is a thread on these forums on how to make such links. edit: found a link - http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...ave-hundreds-of-mb-when-installing-mods.12023

Use Seagate Tools or use HD Tune Here again there are many more programs that can do similar diagnostic tests. :)

I have it on an MX100 256GB SSD. A race with 26 cars for example loads in seconds. The only thing I worry about is that the game writes a replay file on the SSD every time you play. Is there no option to disable this? Because as I know, you should avoid writing and deleting on an SSD all the time.

I would not worry about the writing to the disk as said above you could do that 24/7 and the drive would still be fine in five years time. If you really want to move the folder though have a search for symlinks with your favourite search engine. :)

Edit: You can always read THIS as they have really hammered the SSD's for twelve months and still some are going strong.

Yes as some one said find a way to point your default "MyDocuments" and other library folders onto the HDD.

    lets see here......

there ya go, saved that as a bookmark because well we all reinstall windows from time to time.

It depends what type of game/program you use. In ARMA i always had good use during gameplay as well since ARMA has large maps and load very very often. With SSD loading-microstutter went away and it feels like you get better performance while playing. So its not just loading friendly. Any game/sim that uses harddrive a lot benefits and can remove load-stutter.

Also put my NVidia driver cache on the ram disk, to save on the writes

No difference? Try loading AC from an HDD, it takes about a minute to load snoopy's nord(a large track) and 24 cars. My SSD is maybe 20 seconds. The Witcher 2 is another great example. Day one of my SSD chopped my MassEffect 1 loading screens in half....and well they were long, but noticably shorter. Borderlands 2 however, I did see no difference. I was able to skip the splash 2K logo much sooner, but due to the "checking" of online content while loading the game the speed increase was virtually nill. Levels did however load much faster, which is the biggest upside, transfering large amounts of information quickly into the engine. Plus my Windows boot time, including password entry, and reaching an idle desktop is ~45 seconds. I don't mind restarts at all anymore :)

I didn't notice any difference on AC loading screens, but restarts are clearly faster.

In rF2 If you have 35 GB mod , you run Muliplayer the program change from list view to picture view by Auto. In Picture view mode It's take very long time to load compare to list view mode.

Then you come back to run single. You are forced to load picture view. With HDD take about 1 minutes compare to SSD 15 sec. then you must change to list view by manual.
Sometime load in picture view make the rF2 crash. but If you load picture view from SSD ,You will never App crash anymore.

AC with SSD The big advantage is I can't hear the HDD sound working very hard when loading with big track and can save a bit for loading time. And I can't hear HDD sound when playing (This sound make you strange to hear because you must hear only engine tyre wind.)

May be the big replay file that save in SSD can help some stutter ?
