1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

  4. Very sad to hear about Sabine. I'll never forget the Top Gear segment where she hustled a van around the ring.

    That is an excellent idea.
Saw here in the paddock during VLN a couple of times, there was always smiles and laughter around her in those cases. The amount of condolences and sympathy from pretty much every race team and racing oriented organization I follow on social media shows how much impact she had.
    A sad day indeed.

Hello- Signed up in 2019, but have not posted much yet. After an hour of searching, I'm posting my suggestion here, but pls. advise if there is a better place for my suggestion.

As a struggling driver dedicated to trying to improve, I have thought and posted on other sites that it would be great and would promote faster car setup familiarity, if Sims/ACC included a dedicated TEST TRACK.

ACC is my primary Sim, esp. since I don't have broadband in my area (waiting for SpaceX Starlink) so I am not on iRacing. Then I saw a Youtube in which a fellow Simmer was demonstrating car setups using an apparent iRacing Test Track. So it seems this idea would be considered useful.

I feel some combination of increasing diameter circle tracks, braking and acceleration tracks, slaloms tracks, etc., perhaps even with varying surfaces, would be of real use to many. Hopefully, this would be very instructional to newer drivers, allowing fast and repeatable tests of changing setups, and driving/car principles. Seems it would often help save time during setup, rather than having to drive numerous laps at a specific track, just to perhaps test a new setup at one specific similar radius turn, for example.

Yes, I can understand that you'll have to do actual tests at each track to verify final setups, but personally, I would love to have ACC offer a dedicated Test Track, perhaps as part of a DLC, or even standalone. Some people would not care, but I would pay good $ for an ACC Test Track! Seems it would be easy to create and offer, compared to trying to create accurate graphics/features at real tracks.

Thoughts/Comments? Appreciate Kunos' consideration of such an idea. Thanks.

I personally wouldn't spend any time on a test track as it wouldn't help me get the practice I need on the real tracks...
Though I could see some use for ultra new people, like what Gran Turismo (v1/2) had when you were building ur license up... master the specific corners then eventually get to the full track...

Then again I'd prefer Kunos continue to deliver more tracks from around the world in the GT3 races... a North America DLC would be amazing... love the recently British DLC... so fun and hope to do more MP there

The reason why we don't have the load game with car into a specific corner gts style is we demanded a full sim from kudos so they keep it realistic, it would be great to have for training I agree, but if we wanted a sim we can't be disappointed by not having non sim features. This can't be done in real life so it isn't in game.

Not saying I want the feature.....but there's heaps of things already in the game that you can't do in real life, but is practical and time saving in a sim. E.g. the ability to teleport to pits, the magic auto-reset tyre temp/pressure in hotlap mode, being able to set any weather conditions at will, etc.
Don't think the ability to practice specific corners to save time lapping the whole track would somehow be more arcade.

One of the reasons a test track wouldn’t really be helpful is because of the track surface detail in sims. A 90 degree corner on one track may not be the same as a 90 degree corner on another track as one may have a bump in it, or just different grip levels and the other not. Not like the days of old where the surface of the track had minimal if any impact on how you take a corner.

I remember GT broke the Nordschleife up in to sectors so people could learn it but by bit but that’s not really needed for normal plus minus 2 minute tracks.

There really isn’t any substitute to just doing laps on actual tracks

I don't understand how a test track setup can be any use as all tracks need their own setup . Actually radiuses at a constant speed are generally not the quickest way to complete a section of track as you need to consider the length is the straight pre and post the corner and slowing the car and rotating it mid corner and earlier application of the throttle is likely to result in a faster split. Even using a constant radios test track for understanding car behavior is questionable as the really interesting stuff happens during weight transfer i.e changes in direction , braking and accelerating.

What will a radius or slalom test track prove?
X amount of lateral grip and Y speed?
OK - what about the actual race track. Bumps, kerbs, ABS points, trying to tame TC out of corners, where to sacrifice and gain, stalling of the aero etc....and all this is before we consider that each car has its own specific BoP on each track.

In other games like iRacing, the physics are much more 'basic', kerbs and bumps are a lot flatter. iRacing has also created this perfectionist approach, with apps that you can plug in to show the exact camber in a corner, exact XYZ stat of what the simulator is doing, much of which would be unavailable to a driver or team in real life. All those test tracks do is factor in lateral G as the golden nugget, nothing is further from the truth.
You can have similar in motec if you know how to program a channel, and I can tell you from first hand experience, max lateral G through corners doesn't automatically mean quicker lap times.
I know what you are asking for and suggesting, but it is honestly on no help on a sim like ACC. There are far too many variables (just like real life). On some tracks, even temperature changes can change the balance of the car over a stint. Not to mention the temp and pressure drop in tyres over a stint. There is far too much at play. I could go on.....

Just use Barcelona or Spa for testing. Has all the types of corners you need.

Decent weather too. Paul Ricard also results very convenient, providing the owner is Mr Ecclestone.

Layman reading the patch notes and noticing these bits of BOP UI in the servers now. How do I translate/understand these?

    - Honda NSX GT3 Evo at EU D
    - McLaren 720S GT3 at EU C and BrGT B
    - Lexus RC F GT3 at BrGT B and IGT E
    - BMW M6 GT3 at BrGT B and D
    - Bentley Continental GT3 at BrGT B
    - Audi R8 GT3 Evo at EU A and EU C

Just trying to understand what the EU A/B/C bits mean?
