Assetto Corsa Driving School?

Hi there fellow simracers

I've thinking about this for a few weeks now, and I would find it so great that an Assetto Corsa Driving School would exist at some point.

I remember something like this from GTR (1 or 2, can't remember) where you could get some training about driving a car on a track. It could include like explanations about car physics / dynamics, tyre behaviour, training for taking corners, different racing lines depending of the shape of the corner and the car you're driving, timed exercises like in those Gran Turismo driving licences. I know there are written explanations about those kind of things somewhere but include and in-game, practical driving school where you effectively take a car on track and try to improve you skills with themed exercises would be great. I don't know, like trying to master sections of the Nordschleife, trying to stay within the one-second range of a car in front on a particular track, learning how to keep momentum with a slow car, slaloming through cones, it could be anything...

I can totally understand that you guys at Kunos have more urgent priorities at hand right now but with the arrival of console gamers, maybe some of them would see this as a great opportunity to really get into "serious" sim racing with a software that allegedly has the best physics on the market, it'd be a cool way of opening your arms to the newcomers.

Some dumb games down to cater new audience (yes Dan Greenawalt, I'm lookin at you right in the eyes) so creating something like would be like "okay it's a whole new world right now, you wanna get some skills? Pull up your sleeves and let's start with basic physics understanding" or something.

Yes I did enjoy the feature in GTR2.

 

That would be nice to be able to say, hey I've license A, because you can do a certain time on a number of tracks.

Interesting.

 

That's a good idea. Licences shouldn't let's say, be VIP passes for races in the career for example but being a "status" could be nice. Like the endurance drivers who are ranked with bronze / silver / gold statuses. Could be useful for an eventual matchmaking in multiplayer

 

But even your driving school is out very soon.... and then? I think a solid single player carrer is THE key. If you begin this carrer with the new Fiat 595 it is like a driving school You can teach hear were to go in the curve, apex etc.
