BMW E3 Tourer faster than Farrari 458?

I can take turns faster in the E3 Group A than in the Farrari 458 easily. Is this correct in real life? I get quicker lap times at Mugello in the Group A than the 458. Seems like the 458 just plows too much. Just my opinion of course.
I LOVE driving the E3 Group A and the GT3. Very much fun!!!

On the RSR Leaderboards the BMW WR is over a second and a half faster than 458. Pretty sure alot of that is due to the racing slicks on the BMW (even though they are old tech they still probably have more grip potential than todays semi-slicks although they are probably really close) I'm would have to look it up but I think the BMW is lighter than the Ferrari by a decent margin and the BMW is full fledged race car that is in absolute beast mode.

 

Just try racing the Stage 3 458 very close to a Challenge car.

 

Look at it this way: M3 Gr.A is a cucumber, while ferrari is a marrow squash. More than half a ton difference! Not to mention slicks vs semis, suspension & chasis ridgidity advantage for BMW.
Depends on the track really. Superfast tracks like Monza is where F458 stand a chance (it has top speed & acceleration from abouts ~120kmh or so advantage). Other tracks not so much i'm afraid. Dont uderestimate early 90's german cucumbers!

That the E30 Gr.A is faster than the road car 458 is not that surprising. It's a race car on slicks. If you even the field with the S3 458 which is lighter, has a better suspension setup and slicks the 458 is quite a bit faster. (at least in my hands)

 

Well, I know now that I would not spend 10's of thousands of dollars on a Ferrari 458 or several other of these road cars if my old 2001 Nissan Altima will corner just as good! At 30 mph, my work car does not slide like it is on ice when on dry warm pavement. The regrip on many cars, while speed is decreasing, just feels too iRacing like.
