British touring cars and porsche super cup

Hi all, me and my boy Harry are currently watching the touring cars and Porsche super cup at Silverstone. There is also formula Renault and formula Ford races. Best bit it's open paddock and pits so you can really get up close. Harry's first time (he's 7) and he's loving it. I'm already buzzing to get racing on Assetto later on tonight. £15 a ticket and kids under 15 free. Handy when you live as close as we do.

Formula Renault is very similar to the Formula Abarth we have in AC irc.

Ha ha, even with the plugs in, his little ears were giving up bless him. It was the non silenced exhausts on the touring cars popping like a gun going off that did it I think. I asked him if he was ok, he said "yes, it's awesome, I've gone deaf".

Isn´t it cold in the water now after half an hour?? No, no dead, they say with blue lips

 

lol, we are quite lucky really, Silverstone is 25m south of us, Donnington is about 30m north and also Mallory Park is about 22m away so thats 3 circuits within a 30-40 minute drive away. People don't realise the amout of events going on at circuits each weekend, its not the first thing you think about when planing a day out. Donnington is also home to the largest collection of F1 outside of there factories, about 140 I think it is now, worth a look. Next week at Silverstone for example is the British superbikes, again £15 to get in, kids free. Harry's jaw was dragging on the floor most of today, especially in the pits.

 

Is he already playing AC? (pst, i won´t tell your wife if you tell me the truth?

 

He's had a quick go but to be fair Assetto Corsa is not as good as Minecraft. Or so I'm told.

But of course AC needs a lot of concentration and patience...not given in this age i would say plus i wouldn´t want to share my rig, hehe

Your boy is sitting in an Aston Martin at age 7 and i never have with 35!! I am jealous!!

 

I know, they wouldn't let me sit in it either. As for cooking and cleaning, not today!!!! His sister has been at the olympic park in London all day doing swimming training in the olympic pool (she's 10) but it will all end up with a family pizza takeout watching Dr Who. Kids choice.

I know what you mean, I work every other weekend so its nice to get a day like this. Harry was upset that his sister was off to London and that he couldn't go. Only 1 parent was allowed to accompany her. I thought I'd surprise Harry with today. He knew nothing about it until he saw the Silverstone circuit signs on the way in. He's only just calmed down bless him.

 

I still hate the Silverstone "experience". I know much of it we can thank the F1 brigade for, but the sheer number of fences at Silverstone makes me rage. Its fence city. I have no idea why they think fences are necessary on the outside of Luffield, ive never seen any car make the barrier in that area. I imagine its a decent course to drive, but the spectator experience isn't as good as other circuits. Snetterton and Oulton Park for example have very few debris fences to obscure the view.
