Generic Design flaw for online racing

I've played AC online for a few days and I feel there is a major issue in the way it has been designed. The initial few laps of a race are brilliant fun but since there is no incentive to finish the race gradually players drop out of the race until there is just a few left and then they also quit the game as there is no real incentive to finish the race when there is only a few people left in. Plus a player has no idea how far ahead their appoints are and if they are catching them so this is another reason why players quit.

There needs to be a decent incentive to finish, collected statistics i.e. number of race finishes, podium finishes etc. a leaderboard based on location so people can compare their statistics in their locate region. All basic stuff that other games do really well and it's not too hard to implement, when you consider how much work has gone in to make the game physics and track detail spot on.

 

Absolutely agree. Also need to be able to create our own races and able to change amount of laps and weather. I prefer clear. Not the cloud or fog. You should post this is suggestions.

 

I have had the same experience but I dont think its to do with incentive as most races have the standard first corner pile up, if you are in the lead you get used as a break and get shunted off. Other than that i have found a lot of players just seem to turn into each other on the start finish straight causing a pile up. Then after a few laps everyone starts disconnecting and then your normally left with about 6 players actually racing but so far apart due to all the crashes. The other players who are not racing just seem to roll back and forth across the track taking you out. In 3 days of online racing I think i had around 4 good laps of close racing at spa. We over took each other a couple of times after going deep into the corners etc better exit not once did we touch and i was running about 2 ft off his bumper down the straights. This is probably the best 4 laps of close racing I have ever had. It can be done but you have to find like minded racers.....
