1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

FOV or just another point of view

I like most every sim player setup FOV or at least attempt to setup FOV. In ACC I personally find just slight increments in the main dash cam view works for me. That said AC is a little differnt as I set up FOV per Project Immersion + - to my liking.

I have no idea what makes the difference in settings, but I do find tweaking in ACC is different than AC. OK so what, right? well there is a lot of hubub about proper FOV, I agree with some, I disagree with some on this crucial point of view. As noted I use standard FOV with some + settings and other adjustments to give me a better view. This also changes per car as well as the most frustrating aspect is the left side when the roll cage blocks a lot of view.

I do not know if there is that sweet spot where one settings fits all, but I also know if you want to be serious you set up a single car for that season. It takes minimal time to get used to the car traits, but IMO more time to setup your view.

What is lost between SIM world and real world unless you are using VR is simple, Peripherals. Our sense of speed is based on two things, looking straight ahead and "Peripherals" in the real world. If I am looking at my the front of the car, speed is faster than looking straight ahead. In a single monitor setup you have to rely on a good FOV to simulate some periphials. with that said.

I find in my own experience a balance to seat position (right to left), distance, FOV and height allow me to adjust my eye view to trick my brain into some sense of speed that tends to be normal for me. As a test point I can place my cam view to be the nose of the car and speed seems to be faster when I switch to dash you loose that sense of speed. My setup is to run with driver or helmet cam with a distance + setting, height high enough to gauge front wheel location in apex, position slightly right with the distance + height = better left front view. It is a happy medium

To point, I have tried Project Immersion and all that calculating blah blha blah. In my experience I simply find slight adjustments to the default views work.
