1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

How come i can't see the car suspension bounce when watching replays?

I have watched a lot of racing videos on youtube and have seen the car with very stiff suspension setup which is very typical on race cars. So when driving over a bumpy service you can really see how bouncy the suspension is, but when watching the replays in the game over most of the tracks, I never get a sense of seeing this at all.

Can someone please tell me if this is a feature that is not present in AC's car physics or am I missing something here?

If you watch this video you can see what I'm talking about, at about 13 seconds and 1:28 into the video you can see examples.

Replays don't record at full physics rate (quality setting affects frequency) so you will lose some of the higher frequency car behaviour. So you can't judge everything from that.

I see this type of car/suspension behavior while racing and in my replays, but I have a 144hz monitor and my FPS is 100-144. No matter how smooth you think your gameplay is at 60FPS, you just don't see the intricate details of car movements the way you do with higher FPS. Which is why I preach 144hz for AC all day, every day.

  5. I don't have a 144hz monitor, and I can see the suspension "bounce" when cars ride kerbs etc.

Try checking it from a practice session for a race. Stay in the menu, chose another car from the times table, and observe the car, you can chose cameras.

As somebody else said, replays do not conserve all physics effects. You need to check the cars when they are live.

    Replays look perfect here.

Is this anything to do with the replay "quality" setting?

  8. Quite possibly, Mogster. My replay quality is set to maximum.

As @Stereo has mentioned before: replay quality effects frequency, which means how much information are stored per e.g. a second. If you set it to a low value it won't collect enough data to display every little bounce afterwards. It's by the way also visible when you watch some guys online with a poor connection (I don't mean when they lag), their cars behave some kind of strange, it's more a smooth sliding over the tarmac than driving at it.
