1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

How realistic are the TC simulations?

I must admit that I'm completely uneducated about the subject, but I would imagine that each car manufacturer has their own implementation of TC, since they all have various more or less colorful marketing names for them.

And when it comes to high-end supercars and racing cars, I guess that the specifics of those are pretty closely guarded secrets?

So, since AC leaves these on unless you force them off with a keyboard shortcut, how accurately simulated are they?

I'm specifically curious about the McLaren MP4-12C which (imo) has a very weird and uneven turning speed in corners that goes away then you force off the TC... (and then there are those infamous Tiff Needell videos where he really battles the various electronic systems in that car!)

  3. If you are in Pro mode TCS should be off by default....I doubt the sim is using the exact same electronic data the real car uses; it is pretty cool that Aris implemented different levels according to what the real car has though.

    Most effectual, I'd say.

Actually I was wondering generally about whether there is any difference at all between the electronics which are factory fitted and "assists" such as those you add in the difficulty settings.

I don't get why a car's TC settings would be a closely guarded secret. All manufacturers buy each others cars and strip them down and read every setting in order to find out how they work.
There's simply no reason whatsoever to keep information from game developers because their secrets will be revealed by their competitors themselves, not any sim-game on the market.

There's no voodoo involved in making a car go fast, just tried and tested principles applied in a certain way to achieve whatever goal you want to achieve. That might be the fastest possible lap time on a certain budget (perhaps like Nissan GTR?), or it might be to create the most possible excitement and rewarding experience without inducing fear or sense of being out of control (perhaps like a Ferrari 458?).

  6. In the 458 and 12C (and other road cars like some of the Lotuses and M3) have different numbers of TC modes. However, in the real cars, the TC modes have corresponding levels of stability control as well. So sports mode will have a more relaxed TC mode and a relaxed stability control mode.

Right now in AC, if you set TC on different modes in those cars, on TC is on, but stability control portion of the car is not activated.

Even though I know it is technically correct that TC switch only activates TC, the intent of having 4 levels of TC in the 458 corresponds to the 4 modes of the Manettino (and similarly for the other road cars and their different numbers of TC modes). So for simulation's sake, those modes should also activate different levels of stability control as well.

I noticed, that these are just "Levels". It would be nice if they get a real name, like "Sport", "Sport+" or "Race". Other then that, i concur.^^

  8. I totally agree, they should be named just like in the real cars!

Oh, great... just noticed I posted that comment in the wrong thread, and now I can't delete it... yay, embarrassing! :p

EDIT: Nevermind... someone apparently merged the threads without commenting. Confusion!
