1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I'll likely upgrade when it becomes available. Hopefully they won't load the GPU too hard. I get slight headaches after a while in VR due to the blurriness of current gen Vive.

It's nice to see some progress being made to improve image quality but, it still seems VR will need a significant advancement in the ability to process graphics data and throughput. I don't believe that a better GPU is nearly enough to provide the performance needed to achieve the image quality we seek alone. It's going to require significant advances in Lens-optics and Gaze-tech in addition to higher pixel counts / pixel density - even without increasing FOV. All of that likely equals years more of R&D but, for those just now getting into VR, why not reach for the best available if cost is not a limiting factor (?)

In the case of the PiMax-4K (not a true 8k), it's hard to say if the FOV-gain (in combination with some improved image quality) is worth the performance-hit without trying one but, I'm glad efforts are being made as it may speed advancements through competition. Right now, it could be the unique feature that makes them successful while Oculus and Vive tangle for position, and other HMD-makers focus on other features that earn them a space in the VR-market. Use for our little niche may reveal that some lesser-known brand turns out to be a better fit than those focused on providing a more all-inclusive and user-friendly experience.

After reading CES impressions, seems like HTC took the crown, fedback on Pimax is quite underwhelming.

The upgraded Vive looks interesting, wireless seems to involve compressing the video to buggary though. It’ll be interesting to see how Oculus respond.

Not too surprisingly the Pimax has big problems still. Also when are Pimax going to stop telling outright lies about their equipments specification??? It’s not 8K and there are doubts about the 200° FOV also.

Crazy how some people just do not reaserch anything, guess that’s why there’s so many bad quality products out there, stupid people keep buying them. VR requires MUCH more then just a high res screen, both Oculus (who can be credited with starting modern VR, well Palmer Luckey really) and HTC know this well and their current respective headsets are proof enough. The WMR headsets are a quick slap together of stuff that SHOULD work, but doesn’t. A Vive with increased res is a very different beast to a Samsung Odesey with the same screens. DYOR

That HMD only, do I need anything else for sit down play, don't need room scale, etc. Is base station mandatory?
    Guess it's needed anyway.

Price doesn't matter for me. I need to have it but must wait for the wireless adaptor. Hope that is ready before 2019 though. The vive is ok in AC but cr*p in shooter games due to the massive SDE. I feel like a bank robber with a stocking over my head.

So... 2 controllers plus 2 trackingboxes sell for 589,96€ while a „normal“ Vive including 2 controllers and 2 trackingboxes sells for 599€.. seems legit! :D
