Is driving ac cobra at longford the most enjoyable sim experience ever?

For me yes!
After several days of enjoying this car/track combo I still can't get it out of my head just how stellar this experience is. I'm not sure if its the environment of Longford or that when I'm in the Cobra their is an air of nostalgia but this to me is what sim driving is all about. Thanks again to the creator/converter of Longford and the creators of the Shelby Cobra. Obviously thanks to the AC DEV team for making this all possible. Simply amazing experience

Maybe you guys can advise me. I have resisted downloading user-made cars and tracks because of an assumption -- possibly mistaken -- that mods are either (i) not up to the standard set by the devs in official content and/or (ii) that they might mess with how the game updates via Steam. As I said, I might be quite wrong. I am tempted to download this combo; is there any reason not to?

I must say this content for AC give great hope, this week we had the mod GP2, the beautiful, the beautiful Cobra and Longford. Driving the Cobra in Longford is truly spectacular and the car moves so damn realistic, every braking can kill you if you do not impare addomsticarla in a while, these mods are great, unseen to download and enjoy it.

I would add Joux Plane to the list. I didnt found much else that is more exciting layoutwise then the average circuit, then JP and the Nordschleife, besides many converted tracks got a low quality-mesh, that resulst in unrealistic bumps.

 

There are many tracks that are not up to visual and performance standards of official content. However, you must simply give them a try and see if the visual quality and performance is adequate for you. Absolutely recommend Bridgehampton and Grobnik.

 

My favourite track for the Cobra is Bridgehampton.

 

Driving the Cobra around Lake Louise v2 BETA is a whole lot of fun. That car can go from "I'm having a REALLY good time!" to "Oh my God! I am terrified beyond belief!" in an instant.

EDIT: Wait a minute. What's up with the 5 speed transmission in the OP's video? The Cobra 427 SC that I have is a 4 speed.

 

I love the nordschleife, I can drive just about any car there and have loads of fun. I'm really liking brands hatch too, it's like a mini version of nordschleife with its elevation changes.

The mod track that really sticks out for me is gentrack1, Looks great, great layout, tricky to get right.

 

I like GenTrack_1. I appreciate the time the author put into creating the track for us to enjoy...for free. However, I don't quite grasp what makes it such a popular track. So many people have that track in their Top 5 or Top 10 tracks lists. I'm just wondering what I'm missing or not seeing that makes it such a great track. I'll have to give it a good session today or tomorrow and see if I can pickup on what people like about it so much.

Nordschleife is definitely my favorite track. It just has everything. It's long, but it doesn't really feel long because different segments feel so different from each other, so it doesn't ever feel repetitive. Plus, we all know how difficult it is! I'm sure that the Nordschleife will always remain my favorite track to drive, but Brands Hatch is quite possibly my second favorite track. I love that first turn. It can be a nightmare if you don't have the car settled and/or you take a bad line. The feeling you get when you absolutely nail that first turn is just wonderful.

 

I think it's one of the best looking tracks. Many mod tracks I download look fine up to something like 40ft from the car then everything turns blurry. Lines at the side of the road turn into a mess at a certain distance and it seems like only kunos content and gentrack1 don't do this. I also like the layout, the first corner is great, it has many lines. I love the last chicane before you take the last turn onto the straight. It's short and tricky, it's one of the tracks that you have to pay attention or it's game over.

It reminds me of Irish roads, except without all the risk of dying at any second.

 

I havent watched the video but the official cobra started life as a mod made by the meco and co... it was the s/c, a competition version, street version and a replica with 5speed... vid is maybe the replica with 5spd??
