1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Live Axle Update

I haven't tried the Drift AE86 which some people are reporting some minor issues with (as drifting is not my thing), but I just drove the Tuned AE86 with the new live axle update and it feels like a big step forward.

Thanks once again Stefano for your ongoing efforts to 'fine tune' AC. Much appreciated! :)

    Yeah yeah yeah :):):)

Maserati 250F Monza 66 Road Course. Before the update i can survive. But for me it was not fun. Fighting and struggling from first to last meter of the race.
    Now it feels much better.
Thanks for the hint aris and thank you so much for the update Kunos :):):)

Only tried the 250 F 12 Cylinder and it's been transformed by this update. I had been going round the Nordschleife Endurance in the mid to low 11 minutes but now I'm already about 30 seconds faster.

I kinda miss the challenge of the pre-update car but I think the handling is much more realistic now, much easier to place the car where I want, easier to get the power down, much easier to get close to the limit. There's a stronger feeling of the rear axle shuddering across the road in some corners which I remember from driving real cars from the 1950s, fantastic!

Easier, but still hugely enjoyable to drive :D :D :D

  6. I am certainly no drift expert, but the Toyota AE86 Drift is acting rather strangely since the 1.14.4 update. I had previously tweaked the settings to at least stabilise the car enough to get it under some kind of control, but the handling characteristics after the game was updated are baffling me. It seems to have a tendency to wobble around during coasting or braking, and there are times when I seem to be spinning out during cornering for no apparent reason (a bit like that "gear struggling to engage" problem during downshifts that the standard AE86 car suffered from prior to the update). It is so unstable, that I haven't yet managed to get within a second of my previous PB @ Silverstone National. I have absolutely no confidence in the car. Has anyone else noticed odd behaviour from this car since the update?

    - Improved live axle simulation
    - Updated live axle physics for Alfa Romeo GTA, Ford Escort RS, Maserati 250F 6cyl & 12cyl, Toyota AE86 stock, drift & tuned. Old setups might need to be tweaked again.

I would just like to clarify before i put my foot in it. Is this change only for the 5 cars below or a few more? In my ac build i am seeing modified data.acd files for 26 ks cars. one of those cars in the 458 GT2 and taking for a run @ spa on my setup i was working on a few days ago feels alot different..

Has anyone else come across this?

  10. Those are the only cars with live axles, the 458 GT2 certainly won't be effected.

Yeah, I gave it a go earlier on and it feels indeed much better now.
Before it was a fun car, maybe hopping around a bit too much (in default setup).
Now it's actually quite precise, pretty amazing to drive. Quite a bit of oversteer, but not too much and easily controlled.
Maybe now one of the easier classic cars to start with for newbies.

You can still gain by stiffening the front suspension a bit (thus less roll and slow weight shifting), but it's much more precise after the update, feels much more natural.
