1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Multiplayer is a terrible experience.

Having played this game for 2 nights online I've had enough. I race with a bunch of mates online every night, P Cars, f1 2016 forza if I have too. The forced situation of playing with random people is just awful, not the ones who are considerate and want to race clean I'm on about all the dead heads and there's loads of them in every lobby taking pleasure in ruining other people's evenings racing. Parked up on corners waiting for the leaders to take them out, first corners using cars to slow there's down winning at all costs mentality. I could put up with the average graphics and shocking frame rates because of the car handling on wheels is brilliant, but I'm not wasting another night racing with dead heads because I have too.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with public lobbies.
Kunos are a small team but they work very hard and listen to their community and they will be looking at this response thinking of how they can make your experience better than it is now. Stick with it for a little bit and give them a chance to make your life better and I'm sure you won't regret it.

I am looking forward to you getting some fun racing and btw welcome to the community

It's the same on nearly all racing games, particularly on consoles. It generally dies down after a few weeks/months when the troll supply dries up as they move to the next game. Real racers and fans don't do it, and they're the ones who stick with the game 6, 12, 24, 10 years down the line.

Just bare with Kunos, small developer, first console game and they will sort it out. Frustrating sure, but once people start setting up leagues it should be fine.

Great post op, another issues that needs to be addressed. The lack of private or friends groups is the main issue here. The way the servers currently work as soon as a few friends join a server that server jumps up the listing due to the number oif players in the room. This attracts more random players because it is at or near the top of the list. This in turn leads to almost constant stuttering and framerate issues during the qualifying session as people join, leave, join at random points. Not game breaking stutter and fps drop but in a game of fine margins like AC certainly enough to spoil a good qualifying lap. There is a warning sign of player behaviour here too - if they don't bother to qualify you can often tell what is coming next.

The race at least locks the room so there is less lag/stuttering usually only when people leave the room. Because there are now 15 people, many of them randoms, in the room the (Forza) first corner chaos usually follows. There are plenty of intentional crashers who drive straight through at the first corner then disconnect. Then there are the people intent on ruining the race by driving the wrong way or waiting in ambush at some point on the track. By lap 2 half the lobby have often left and the race settles down leaving you to race on in whatever random position and with whatever damage your car has sustained.

I've yet to fully test this but I also believe the corner cutting standards and penalties are not being enforced in the online races - I've seen people cutting the top of Eau Rouge and the bus stop chicane at Spa for example with no slow down or penalty.

The PC game has been out for 2 years and is still plagued with the usual range of terrible driving standards and people intent on ruining others online racing, even the servers with the minorating (an online behaviour monitor - think digital Charlie Whiting and the stewards in F1) still have issues.

Bottom line is it will never be a satisfying online game until we get private multiplayer rooms where we can race with others we trust to a set of standards. The whirr of AC disks being ejected from consoles is getting louder every day. The clock is ticking for the developers to make the changes.
