1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Any of you guys using NVI settings to improve the quality in graphical appearance of this game? Could you please share some of your settings?

4xSGSS for better AA sometimes, but you need mega GPU powaaaa!

My AC is getting worse and worse with every update and every new driver version. At the moment it's a stuttery mess and really not playable. :-(

latest nvidia driver 359.00 had this issue on my 670gtx, rolled back to 355.82, and vsync on and capped at 61 fps or 60 not sure at this moment, but that keeps pc cool, no lag, no stutter, just smooth gameplay......

render stats : 3 lines all the time flat....

Im on driver version 355.60. 'Antialiasing - Transparancy Supersampling' is set to 'AA_MODE_REPLAY_SGSSAA_4X' also known as 4x supersampling. This is hands down the biggest graphically improving thing you can do to AC. The AA/AF/FXAA ingame do next to nothing, but I do have AA/AF on 8x. I suspect FXAA literally does nothing for the visuals other than eat framerate so Ive left that one disabled.

My fps stays in the 60-110 range, with only gravel smoke/dust effects causing frame drops. So because of that ive turned the smoke effects down to low, keeping smoke enabled and also keeping it playable but its noticeable when someone goes off track.

Hmm, I thought it was me. 359.00 is really messed up. Crashes even with slightest OC, drops frequency to the floor after playing iracing, that requires restart. The one before that seemed to be the most stable. Will try clean install with DDU today and if issue remains probably revert.

Completely cured all my stutters and doubled my fps.... by removing a GPU and running a single 980.... So yeah, SLI seems thoroughly broken at the moment.

FXAA actually does a lot for a very little FPS loss, however most people think it does TOO much AA and makes things blurry.

4x sparse grid super sampling is the best AA hands down, as I mentioned above it just requires a good chunk of GFX power.

Ah you might be right. Its been a really long time since ive had it enabled so I simply forgot haha. Seriously though, FXAA is mediocre in AC. Supersampling does all the work and then if needed you could run better filters for more realistic colors etcetc.

And I think I fixed it. The problem was not as much the latest driver (359.00) as major Windows 10 upgrade that installed some driver for NVidia.
    - Uninstalled all NVidia drivers
    - Rebooted, Windows found some drivers running at 4K. Hmm, this is new. Went into Device Manager, under Display Adapters selected uninstall NVidia adapter, and checked "uninstall associated device software".
    - Ran DDU http://www.wagnardmobile.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=135&sid=16c213a18476ef0efb61a2a865aa7591
    - Installed 359.00 again
    - No problems so far and no weird clock frequency drops.

I've found what I think is the best overall compromise between good AA with reduced jaggies and pixel crawl, while maintaining a high FPS (4xSGSS can destroy FPS):

    AC AA = 2x
    AC AF = 16x
    AC graphics.ini MIP_LOD_BIAS = 0
AC Shadows = High (reduces tree shadow pixel crawl with these settings, Ultra just increases pixel crawl)
    NVI Antialiasing Mode = Enhance
    NVI Antialiasing Setting = 2xQ
    NVI Transparency Supersampling = 2xSGSS

These settings look great while racing and movement appears very smooth (mostly due to maintaining a higher FPS* but also from reducing pixel crawl, especially on shadows). Everything still looks nice while not in motion, but not necessarily the best for taking screenshots.

You can also set NVI Antialiasing Setting to 8xCSAA to slightly boost AC's AA, but I find the 2xQ gives just enough blur to help reduce flashing pixels/pixel crawl in the distance without resorting to FXAA or changing LOD BIAS (which can make even close-up objects appear blurry, like opponent car liveries for example), AND isn't as resource intensive.

And remember whatever you want to set SGSS to, AC's AA needs to match (i.e. both should be 2x or 4x, you can't set one to 2x and the other to 4x because SGSS gets its sample coordinates from the AA).

*I have a 144hz monitor so I try to keep FPS above 120, which makes AC look friggin' unbelievable. If you only have a 60hz monitor, you can probably jack these settings up and still achieve a good 60FPS.

My profile - in my opinion the most important settings here for better visual quality are the transparency Supersampling and texture filtering/negative LOD bias (needs AF disabled ingame). Better antialiasing than the ingame solution would be nice (I don't know of any working solution here), downsampling preferable - but that requires a pretty beefy setup.
