PLEASE recommended a laptop

Hello, I'm new to these forums and new to PC racing. Well, not new really. I haven't even purchased a
PC yet.

I have already purchased the game simply to support the developer. I have AC on my PS4 and PC2 on my PS4. I have been following every possible piece of information on this game, forums and videos on You Tube

I will be buying a PC literally for this game only!

I know that minimum spend don't always tell the story so I am hoping someone with experience could direct me to the proper specs to enjoy this game as the developers intended. I may even want to use VR some day

Why a laptop? A PC will always be much faster then a laptop given same amount of money

Ok. To your question, a laptop gives me more flexibility to use for other things as well. Also, I don't really have a dedicated area for a stationary tower

 

What's your budget?

 

I hope to not spend more than 1,500

 

I’ll say get at least:
I5 processor
1070 graphic card
8gb ram
1TB drive
Hdmi - if you have a monitor just connect and mirror image
17” screen

But if your budget is good then look into Alienware or Asus Rog laptops

I run this exact same processor at 3.9ghz on 6 cores with good temps using ThrottleStop and I managed to overclock the GPU a little bit.

This is the laptop I have which is a bit more pricey but it has come down in prices from when I bought it - it used to cost $2500 6 months ago.

This laptop has been amazing to me and I run ACC in VR - Cinebench score of 1257 which is pretty high for a laptop.

Just a thumbs up from me for MSI gaming notebooks, in general.
My GE60 Apache with i7 and GTX850 is already 4.5 years old again and it has always worked well for me.

 

If I was you I'd seriously reconsider buying a laptop if it's specifically for sim racing. There are small form factor PCs you can get, so if you really need to tidy away the PC when not in use it wouldn't be as much of a chore.

A laptop is basically a dead end PC. If you buy a desktop you can get ten years out of it with one or two upgrades to keep it relevant, like upgrading the graphics card after 3 or 4 years. You can't really do that with a laptop, or at the very least it's going to be more expensive to get worse parts. Everything about a laptop is a compromise that your paying a big premium for. If you get a desktop you'll get much better value for money, it will be usable for much longer, less prone to failures due to overheating and you'll be open to using all the cool sim hardware down the road because you will have more than 2 USB ports.

I can understand your logic, almost all new comers to PCs think laptops are a good way of getting a PC without having a big PC in the corner of the room. Of course the laptop ends up sitting in the corner of the room in the same way the desktop would have. For most people it's not that much of an issue they won't be doing anything more than surfing the web and writing emails but once you get into any kind of special requirements like video editing, photo editing, gaming or anything where power and usability matter, go desktop. That way down the road you can do things like VR, or adding a handbrake to your setup.

You only need a laptop if you need to use your PC in other places outside of your office or home. If your only going to be using the laptop at home then it's a waste of money paying a laptop premium.

 

If you travel a lot around like me a laptop comes handy.
I have the MSI Raider GE75 see my Signatur.
I7 8750H should be in, ACC is really CPU hungry.
With Undervolt it can run 25-26 cars steady at 60 FPS.
Doesn't get too hot.

Also I recommend aswell atleast 1070 Mobile for VR.
