Remove auto pit limiter in manual cars

It would increase realism if old, manual gearshift cars could be driven at free speed in the pits. It should be the job of the driver to stay below the limit.

AC could then apply delayed drive throughs for speeding.

 

Why just old, manual cars? An automatic pit speed limiter seems like something almost no cars have regardless of transmission or age. Surely only proper racecars would have them?

 

You should have to manually turn the pit limiter on/off. Automatic is fine for casual drivers but it really should be a fully manual operation.

We've been asking for a manual pit limiter for +4yrs.!!

 

Once they figure out how to deal with penalties, such things are possible. I think it's only the penalties that holds them back.

 

speeding in the pitlane:

1./ Immediate drive through on your out/following lap
or
2./ Immediate 10sec stop and go, again on the the out/following lap.
or
3./ Speeding in pitlane on the penultimate lap of race with no time to take the stop and go or drive through = 10, 20 or 30 sec added to your overall race time.

There should be no differentiating between by how much or how little you sped.
Speeding in pitlane is still speeding in the pitlane, so i really don't see that as being difficult to implement.

I think something there's something else at work here.

+1 this should be a server specific option though.

 

But we would also need better visuals that show the position of the pit entry/exit lines and the pit speed info marked at pit entry.

 

Some guy's done track mods that put signs or lines at the pit entry. There's a thread somewhere.

 

I know Wally, but IMO that should have been done by Kunos and would be essential for manual pit limiter.
