Generic Special events and golds ?

Trying to get gold or even silver in some of the special events is neigh on impossible for the mortal man, Ive given up. Even looked at the percentage that have achieved this in the trophies and according to the psn even silver is showing Zero .

Do kudos think we are all Ben Collins of the sim world?

I feel a varst majority of players will never achieve these goals.

There are some phenomenon sim drives out there and if they can't do them what chance is there for the rest of us ?

 

You know what is funny? I did a special event quick race with Abarth Assetto Corse in Mugello (nice combo by the way) and I got gold in 2nd attempt. Same with Audi Quattro in Nordschleife (I uploaded a video to my youtube account with that lap). I got gold with Ford Escort Mk in Brands Hatch also, it was an easy target to reach (at least for me). But 2.02.000 with Audi RGT8 in Silverstone? No way! My best in Project Cars is 2.02.6. In AC is 2.05.1...In my opinion, the challenges are not levelled, in other words, for the same racer, some targets are too easy and others are almost impossible to reach

But its when you go and look in trophies to see how many have got gold in them and its 0 so you check silver and its 0.1 , you start to think .

 

Reach level 50 in drift mode = 0.1%

Achieve a silver on all drift events = 0.1%

Achieve a silver on all hotlap events = 0.1%

Achieve a silver on all race events = 0.1%


Achieve a silver on all time attack events = 0.1%

Achieve a gold on all race events = 0.0%


Achieve a gold on all special events = 0.0%

I could go on but you get my point .

 

Certainly I will not get any trophy with "drift" written on it. I can´t get a good drift with DS4 (I miss Grid and NFS Shift 2, excellent to drift). Reach level 50? How about reach level 3...my best was 6 and was difficult. If you try to tune a control for better racing, you don´t have a good control for drift and vice-versa.

 

Im very sure that the team who made the game cant get a silver or even a bronze in some events

 

havent the events been toned down already in the update? the f40 s3 at mugello is apparently 2 mins now which is a good 4-5 seconds slower than the car can do. If the events are made so easy that everyone can get all gold wouldnt there be little to no enjoyment in completing them?

On the flip side there is also little enjoyment in doing them if no one can do them , hence the 0.1 & 0.0 results in the psn trophy count.

 

im not surprised for the "all" trophies. how long has the game been out? a month or so isnt it.

Regarding stats, it doesn't have to be necessarily down to difficulty. Here are some stats from the PC version of the game, they are completely unrelated to career/events/AI difficulty. Also with some achievements it says 0.0%, but it doesn't mean that nobody did it. I had it recently with one of the events, I did it and it was still saying 0.0% on Steam. Guess it's down to not enough people doing it to be at 0.1%. It might be just a Steam bug that is unrelated to console versions of AC though.





If barely over 30% of players did over 300km/h or less than 10% did more than 10 laps in hotlap or damaged their car completely (this shouldn't be hard for new players), then it's hard to expect having solid figures on players that did all the events. Especially on consoles where AC is out for a bit over month now.

 

That only 73% have done 100kmh must prove that its broken, at least on steam.

 

I don't know how accurate is Steam with it, I know you need to have enabled penalties to get achievements. For example I got them turned off and run them on only when I take on some special events, so I get "completely destroy your car" couple months ago, even though I have AC for over 2 years.
Also I think, but I'm not sure about it (easy to check), Steam won't give you achievements if you run it in offline mode.
So maybe these two combined give ~20% + some bugged/not recorded stats give 27% of people that didn't reach 100km/h.

 

Maybe you should just be given all the trophies for completing a single lap when you first get the game?

Why on earth should the hardest goals be achievable by the majority?

It is actually refreshing to see a developer offer a good level of difficulty for a change, one that forces people to actually learn to improve there skills.

I am slowly working my way through the special event hotlaps, and I will achieve gold in them all, through persistence, learning and finally understanding how to go fast in Assetto Corsa.

Assetto Corsa reminds me of the level of difficult in a very special driving game that was around before achievements and trophies came on the scene, any one that got 232 platinum medals will know exactly what I mean

 

Stop thinking that everybody deserves a gold or even a silver or a bronze.
Gold means that you have mastered a car and track combo.
Mastered.
Are we talking about a racing simulator or an arcade, here?
I can't achieve gold in every special event simply because I'm not good enough, so I have to try harder, learn, tweak the setup and still I can't be sure that I will because there is that thing called "talent".
Face it.

 

Nothing wrong with a bit of a challenge... I've still got nightmare of some of the challenges in Gran Turismo
