The Formula Nations Trophy (1950-present day)

Throughout the history of motorsport, drivers, manufacturers and privateers have competed against each other to be the fastest of them all - but very rarely has the competition been between nations.

The only time this really happened was the failed A1GP, which ran for four years before going bankrupt in 2009.

I am attempting to revive this style of competition, but with a few key tweaks. First, I'm free to choose any driver I want to represent their nation (I've devised a set of guidelines and eligible disciplines to determine my driver pool), rather than only the ones that are available and want to drive. Second, I'm starting not from present day, but from 1950, because I'd like to find out which nations have been the most successful at providing the best racing drivers throughout the decades.

For each year I will use cars, drivers and circuits that would have been available in that real life year, including custom liveries where possible to represent the different nations. I've started off by using Assetto Corsa as the sim to host the races - hence the post in this forum - and I have created a discord server so I, and anyone else who is interested, can keep track off all the results and the ebb and flow of each nation's fortunes over the years in one easy location.
