1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I think he may have bumped the Evora earlier and wanted to let him rejoin the track and be sure to stay behind.
Good thought for trying to be fair, but as said, bad execution.

    Great stuff, thanks a lot.
I don't see how anybody could post here within the next days while we should be busy reading.

Train yourself in awareness for what's going on who is around you, especially besides you.

This is what I hate the most. When people stick out the nose at the wrong place. It's not like you can gain position being there.

    Stick their nose?
    Are you for real???
He was on the far left, would have been enough to keep going as he had the inside for the next turn. Should I just back off, because then we can stop racing altogether.

  10. That incident was the fault of the 370Z driver. He should have been aware that Schnipp was halfway alongside him in the RX7. No excuses.

Yep, the braking point is simply 1~3 meter ahead.

The player in front used the whole width of the track while the RX-7 was in a weird line which should been vastly slower & somehow catch up. Kind of obvious the RX-7 could have waited.

Do me a favor, never drive on a race track IRL.
    Dear god.

If a car is on your side the leading driver can't just change his line as he likes, he has to leave space for the other one. If he doesn't it's 'Forcing another car off the track' as it's called in F1 and other racing series.

Wow, you might be in need for glasses.
The braking point was still like 50m away.

Edit: This is the braking point for that turn:

We weren't even close to the braking point at the point the 370Z hit me.

There was an overlap waaay before the braking point and the Nissan kept pushing the RX out of the track.

EDIT: with all that said the driver in the Nissan might have not realized this, that's why in these cases I usually back up

@Schnipp What interest me is the exit speed of the 370z & why the RX7 was catching it. There's the short path & if you run wide, your exit speed is better.

If you are aware that you machine has vastly better grip, there are better time to pass.

There's also the bad upload rate which promote this kind of stuff.

This is great! The example @Schnipp posted spawns different perspectives.

@MrDeap , I hope you don't feel jumped here, as I am on the opposit team of opinion too. It is though a 1st class example of difference in perception and interpretation of "rules" and etiquette.
So thanks for posting your view on the situation, appreciated!

@mms, I think you hit the nail, the Nissan driver is not even realizing what is going on around him, I hardly think he pushed Schnipp on purpose or because he was claiming his position. This gives me another go at bashing Schnipp's driving (luv ya buddy!), because he SHOULD have reacted to that Nissans path of doom. Able to see the Nissan and Helicorsa going red alert, yet no reaction.
    Tsk tsk... :D

  16. ....and there lies the crux of the problem. If you want to race online, you need to be aware of what is happening around you. Whilst I agree that Schnipp was in a better position to see what could happen, it does not absolve the 370Z driver from blame.

Absolutely agree, but people need to learn that. It would be interesting to know whether the driver of the Nissan used virtual mirrors and Helicorsa. I'm pretty sure Schnipp was in his blind spot, and without those it would have been difficult for him to know where Shcnipp's car was. And even if he/she was, a rookie driver sometimes just does not have the reflexes yet.

Some of us have been racing online for a while now, and we all know what to do in these cases, but I remember when I started racing online (not that long ago in my case, started a few years ago with AC), in lots of situations I just did not know how to react. I was like, "ok, what to do, what to do"....and crash boom bang... You really don't have much time to think. That's why these threads are important, hopefully more and more people (especially rookies) will follow these threads and learn something to be better prepared for their online races.

After a long time I joined a public server today (it was MR, but I think it was not restricted):

I think this was another case where the driver of the blue car did not realize I was there, I saw him cutting me off (mostly thanks to helicorsa), and backed off to avoid contact. He was showing up as orange in Helicorsa, but except this and a small contact two laps later he was pretty good.

O.T.: I joined late so I was starting from the back(~20), and finished 8th, but only had to overtake 2 or 3 cars (and avoid many accidents)

You can't just swerve left and right just because "you are on the racing line", you're not hotlapping, learn how to race.I hate being driven off the track by people who can't respect someone else's position, you can't just drive in front of them and expect them to brake just because you think you're faster and are on the corect line.
Try doing that on a Nordschleife race, I guarantee no one will finish the race.
