No action really but had to record some Goodwood wet driving, it was great fun!

That GTA is pretty good in the close to freezing temps and wet, the 718 RS60 not so much

 

The temps are weird, I feel maybe something is undiscovered. I felt that yesterday Porsche was very difficult, but laptimes weren't bad.

Today after online I tried GT40 with Optimum grip and 18C temp, and it was +/- difficult, then tried slow grip setting and 10C, it was harder, I had huge drama almost hitting pit wall lol, but the laptime was same lol I can't get it.

By the way, I am happy that relatively we had many people today, it was very fun, a bit painful to watch people with Porsche spinning out, haven't tried it yet. But there were some close racing, which was really intense in such grip conditions, it was quite mad. I feel like Lavant exit (it is offcamber) and Woodcote are too slippery, and Fordwater and Lavant Kink are too grippy. What do you think ? Anyways it was really awesome, we did it !

 

I doubt it can keep pace but I will throw the Honda S800RSC in with the current cars for Monday. The Porsche is definitely way too slow to keep up in the wet, the Fulvia and GTA are much better. I wonder if the RSC can take on the Porsche!

Part of Fordwater looks quite dry to me. As long as the grip and the visuals correlate as much as possible I'm happy. What about adding a visual oil tint and slippy patch somewhere?

 

I don't know whats WET RSC pace, but it could be fun.

It would be possible to add some smaller and larger oil patches around the track, but I don't know if it is necessary.

 

Yeah the Alfa looks positively easy compared to the Porsche, that was very tricky indeed! Great fun

 

I only got one race in on Goodwood wet, because I had to spend a lonnggg time working my way up the learning curve offline! I started out in the Porsche, with a dry setup from another track and I really struggled so I jumped to the Alfa and had an older Goodwood dry setup for it...well it was a lot easier and faster than the Porsche but I had to radically change the setup and, as you said Mantas, the track feels different in various areas, punctuated by those puddles! The approach to Lavant corner was slippery which made braking challenging and then getting on the power out of that corner was tough. Anticipating the cars rotation under power and counter steering in anticipation seemed to be the key. And barrelling down the long back strait and heading deep into that tricky double Woodcote corner took a lot of nerve! Great fun, a big skill challenge and I enjoyed the race immensely. Thanks for setting it up!

 

BTW if anyone is planning to have a go in the S800 RSC I recommend replacing the 312T sound with the 33 Stradale sound. It is a V8 rather than an inline 4 but somehow seems quite close to the RL Honda, just slightly too low pitch. I hope to find time to try the little Honda after work today.

Currently running Honda S800 RSC, L:ancia Fulvia, Alfa GTA & Porsche 718 RS60 at Goodwood Wet. If you arent the fastest guy join in either the Lancia or GTA. Me and pctm are in the server in Honda's. Just public racing so no pressure, feel free to join and have some fun!

 

I'd love to go for RSC and Porsche today. Just gotta eat real quick now.

If you click the DLC button so it is not lit, you see the server:
(in this case you can see I haven't yet downloaded the Honda S800 mod, so I couldn't see the server before...)


I presume you don't have either the Lancia, the Honda, or Goodwood.

You don't see server 5 because you don't have Zolder...

 

Registered to SRS Cobra race, I really hope to find someone at ALOOG1 after that, RSC is just totally amazing on "wet" track

 

That is hands down one of my best driving experiences in Assetto. Thanks pctm, great fun! I have removed the GTA's and Fulvia's but left 5 Porsche 718 RS60's for those that are struggling to find pace in the S800 and want to get in on the action. Other than that it is all Honda S800 RSC's

Did you get caught up in some incident? Was a bit of a crash going into T1, was very lucky to just avoid and ended up in the lead until about 3/4 of the way through the race when one guy got past me.

Very adrenaline filled though, that track (classic Fuji) is tricky in the Cobra.

Thanks slightly to the server issues I have taken my first victory. The second and third races, split 1 server failed. I missed race 1 through just missing it... However I only had one more race than most others, and both my first two races were in bottom split so could only achieve 80 points maximum, so winning by 100 clear points (102 maximum available for 1st place in split 1 with no incidents) I think is still worth celebrating

Yes that is such an experience, if everybody who begged for rain had tried that 3 years ago, the forum may have been quite a lot quieter

I just drove S800, and it feels so right lol. I just can imagine how fun it would be to race ! Kinda regreting going to rce at Fuji.

If someone could mod in something, so track grip would increase for lower speed, and decrease if higher than certain refference speed, then it should be really similar to true thing, I guess.

Two years ago I was suggesting to do that, but everyone said it is bad idea. So had to do myself lol The first one was a guy who did Aosta conversion, he did it first, but his grip was all flat and too high, and without patches, wothout puddles.

@LeiF I think one of those two races could be counted in since you missed first one. Real shame Thomson didn't happen for most of us... I was really frustrated, as much as when Goodwood didn't happen for escorts :/ Yes Fuji T1 was catastrophy, enter is blind, entered and saw at least three cars sideways smashing other ones like bowlings, got three contacts instantly... that track is a mess tbh haven't noticed when driving solo.
