1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #74 : Screaming Memories

    The Challenge.
    Car:Ferrari F2004
    Track: Nurburgring GP

    Assetto Corsa_2.jpg
    carro.jpg
This one brings great memories to us all,i belive. I was a young child at the time Schumacher ruled the F1 world, and i clearly remember playing with my F1 car toys while watching the real thing on TV during the early 2000's. The screams from those V10 engines were so distint that i would go around the house trying to replicate them (i was quite good at it,actually!) while playing with my little toys.By 2004,an eleven year old me was a big fan of Schumi and everything related to Ferrari,so this challenge serves as a tribute to one of the all time greatest, and to an unforgetable era.The new F1 season started last week;there is no comparation between the sounds and the visuals of those electrical halo toys to the wonderfull machines from pre-2009 season,at least in my opinion.
The F2004 is one of best cars in Assetto Corsa,so greatly recreated that it throws us back fourteen years on time in just one lap. The 2004 cars were the fastest F1's ever until last season, when they were finally beaten. But keep in mind that back then, the regulations didn't allow slick rubber, neither huge rear tyres. No DRS or KERS aswell. It's a very addictive car to drive. It's just impossible to do only one or two laps,it really is.The sound alone makes you want to drive it endlessly just to keep hearing those sweet notes of pure musical ecstasy.Accelerate, listen to the rev's and gear changes, brake, listen to the downshifting, repeat, repeat, and repeat again.
For this challenge, the old format of the WHL returns. For two reasons: the 5 lap stint makes an unbalanced challenge because the aliens take a lot of advantage lap after lap, which causes a huge dispersion in laptimes. F1's are always hard to push to the limits,so the differences would be bigger.Secondly,as much addicting this car is,it doesn't feel right to treat it with the objective of consistency. This one was made for going as crazy fast as you can.It suits more a true hotlap i believe. But don't worry, the 5 lap challenge will return on other challenges, whenever you ask or the car/track combo feels appropriate! ;)

Nurburgring was choosen with the idea of putting the F2004 in a track belonging to the 2004 calendar.Silverstone was out of question because it's layout became too different, there is already a special challenge for Monza,Barcelona was used for the SF70H (the Moto layout would be the right one but still it's far too similar to the GP version). That left Spa and Nurb.Since this is a bit of a tribute to Michael,it had to be a German track. For reference, the pole time for the 2004 was a 1.28.351 and the fastest lap on race was a 1.29.468,all set by Schumi (who took the victory aswell doing 60 laps in 1:32.35,101).Can you beat those laptimes?I could do it on F1 2006 in my PS2.Here on Assetto?I'm more than 10 seconds slower.I guess i used to be an alien in the PS2 :D

    The Rules.

    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday April 8th 2018 - 22:00 GMT.

    How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Ferrari F2004 and head to Nurburgring. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Good luck and have fun ;)

What an amazing car - and many thanks for this great introduction!
(although I usually prefer to turn off all stability controls / ABS ... that's even more fun, but slower ...)

I notice the default camber settings are uneven, 3.36 on the left, 3.13 on the right, should these be balanced?
What an amazing car, I need to recalibrate and build up the bravery levels for the corners...it was 10 laps before I was flat through the Schumacher S. Very good laugh!

First time I race in this car. Scary with a very high adrenaline level. No idea how I did it but I survived the corners. Agree with all the other racers: Thanks Hugo. Yet another moment of joy you gave to me. After five minutes I had to demoisture my VR goggles and installed the blow in my face fan again
