AC is like Dirt Rally

Just a bit more gush for AC

I try all of the non subscribe sims out there and always seem to revert back to AC and DR for my racing needs

I remember really having to think about which sim to play when PCars 2 came out: AC had better FFB and physics but PC2 has better gfx and sound. PCars 2 has full on surround sound using headphones e.g. the engines sound 'behind' you etc. I thought it made AC's sound depressingly mono!

But then I got 5.1 speakers and the sound is back up there. On par with PC2.

AND I now prefer the graphics now in AC thanks to mods.

One other thing, which won't be an issue for some: both AC and DR performs the best on my middling rig.
Ryzen 3600x, 1070, 16GB, RiftS, G29, Z906 5.1.

Maybe Autobalista 2 will overtake AC, with regard to physics and FFB, but for AB2 to perform anywhere near as well as AC, the game looks a shimmering mess on my RiftS.

To sum up, AC is fricken amazing and I see comparisons to Dirt Rally. Whenever I get back into the animal that is the Lancia Stratos I wonder why I booted up DR2 or any other rally game.

Both games look and sound good/real enough, and indeed for me, they both still have potential for visual improvements as I increase my hardware (VR and PC), they both play well and sound good on my 5.1 setup.
They both do a good enough job of the sim factor.
They both have plenty of content.

Moving to another sim, on my rig, really does feel like a side grade, at best) instead of an upgrade.
