1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

ACC Safety Car

Safety cars don't exist to let people repair their damage.

  2. Posts like these probably make it very frustrating for the Devs to interact with the community! That is why the "Thank you, Kunos" thread is so important.

I think he is trying to do a Verstappen and win the Post of the Year in the final lap :D #lazydevs (good t-shirt from Marco btw)

Like we saw on Saturday, safety cars can ruin the merit of a race result. I can see the argument for it in AI races - because then you only ruin your own fun - but I doubt the devs will spend the many hours required for it just for AI races - not nearly worth it in terms of ROI.

It's a very, very necessary evil in real life that we can luckily do without in sim racing.

If we would get a realistic Safety Car, we would need realistic repair time for the crashed cars as well.
    Have fun.

In sims safety car is just a gimmick, without any real need for it.

In Abu Dhabi F1 race the issue was not the pace car but how the race director choose to make a shameful use of it.

Even if it was used right - i.e. the lapped cars were released the lap before - the result would've been the same, but it still wouldn't have been a meritorious result, all due to a safety car. Safe, definitely. But a safety car always screws someone over.

Indeed, it's really frustrating that I can't rack up ratings in ACC like I can in the real world.

In the real world you wouldn't have had time to repair your car in a 30 minute race, well, you might have had enough time to do the repair but you'd still be at the back of the grid.

Sometimes a safety car can be a benefit, sometimes it can ruin a race. It's called a motor race :D

The Only reason for a safety car is to protect people , marshals, drivers etc. Its not there for racing. There is no point in having a safety car in a sim , since there is no risk of people getting killed. in a real race the only people who benefit from a safety car are the people who get to drive it (and the drivers who can't keep up with the driver in front!). But for everybody else drivers and spectators, it must really piss them off

Can't see any need whatsoever for a safety car in acc. Dev time would be far better spent polishing the existing features and content, not to mention squashing the few bugs that still remain.

It's one of those features that would be nice to have for immersion but I would be willing to bet no one will use it. In all reality most people don't want to be sitting behind a safety car for a couple of laps.

Your keyboard is not serious about keyboarding.

"Kunis wants as little work as possible" sounds a bit harsh don't you think. Poor girl.

Maybe we need the new AC to be Assetto Corsa 2: Safety Car Showdown. All the races will be behind different safety cars, from hoopties used at local tracks all the way up to the Ashton Martins and AMG GTs of F1. Could be a thriller.

As long as it takes place on the Nordschleife you're on to a winner I think.
