American Tracks?

The VLM version of Mid Ohio for GTR2 (and in my case, P&G3) was awesome.

 

Elkhart Lake is a nice venue and other than having armco and gravel added it's hardly changed since the 60s.



All those sweeping bends, trees and elevation changes remind me of the old Oesterreich Ring

N America has some fantastic old school road courses no arguement.

 

Agree 100%, many of the best venues in the world just, unfortunately, in a market which loves oval racing and a land where safety cars and inability of marshals to leave post without a FCY can sometimes taint the actual racing on them.

Nonetheless, I find IMSA preferable viewing to most WEC events just because of the venue's.

I do weep inside when I see requests for COTA though, what an antithesis to all the great courses like Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, Road America, Sebring, Lime Rock, Mid Ohio, Barber, Sonoma and, north of the border, Mosport.

I realise the tracklist for AC will never be huge, but one or two of these storied venues will be great additions. Luckily, my gut (and hints from Marco) tells me that at least one of them will be with us later this year...

As a modern FIA grade 1 track COTA's good but yes Elkhart and Ohio are nicer

 

Yes, I agree. It is hardly one of the great American tracks.

 

I must agree that North America does have some incredible race circuits and it would be great if AC had a few to keep our friends across the pond happy. For me sadly Laguna is my least favourite of tracks, not only in North America but ever. It's just done nothing for me and in a simulation, the corkscrew has done nothing for me.

My favourites are Sebring (Favourite race circuit ever), Virginia International Raceway, Long Beach, Sonoma, Watkins Glen and Mid Ohio. Mosport would be nice for a Canadian track.

Laguna Seca probably coming. We should be happy about getting even 1 NA track, since a while ago NA track coming into AC seemed very unlikely. I remember everyone saying on forums that it will never happen, don't know if actually Kunos have said something like this earlier, when it didn't seem realistic plan... or if it was common misconception of community. Anyway getting even one NA track is huge.

Marco said track licensing is tricky, there is number of issues. Like Suzuka which they tried to get, asking too much money. And track owners being sluggish with getting back to you.
