1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    I really like the AI in AMS, you can actually have a decent race with them in every car (I've tried so far.)

    Here's a clip of me Hot Car hunting in my Opala :D The AI don't give up when your side by side and they will try and pass the player car from behind. They make the odd big mistake as well and turn themselves into roadblocks.

    I am wondering what's the difference between the AMS new turbo code and the one from AC.
    Does AC has full turbo simulation or it fakes it as AMS used to do?

  6. AC uses a code that is way less complex than, for example, netKar PRO. The experience with nkp drove us to this simplification, the added complexity doesn't bring any advantage at all at the end of the day and instead of guessing around some dozen numbers you can work with 2-3 and get to the desired result faster and more reliably. No idea what AMS is doing or was doing before.

    AMS ai is getting there, it has gone through lot of changes lately. Now it finally starts to feel nice, they were over aggressive and had pileups in certain tracks not too long ago. Before that reluctant to overtake. Making ai clearly not easy, SMS also struggling. Think the ai was tweaked car per car somehow, which is possible when there is not as many cars as AC. Considering that AC ai is in good place

    I dont think turbo's are simulated at all (yet) in AMS, as the guy explains in the FTruck video posted yesterday (the first of the 2 videos is posted above.) I imagine the Fiat Uno cup car has a pretty small turbo but I cant wait to see how it changes after the turbo update.

    I drove the Formula Truck yesterday and as explained in the video it has instant response at present which is very good fun but probably not accurate for a Truck with a whopping great turbo bolted to it. I imagine it wont be as hilarious to drive afterwards though :p

    Automobilista had a 100% pure Rfactor 1 engine. Now, they did some modifications on the engine.

    They are improving, but at same time, lately.

    Here's one of the AI making a nice mistake (and me getting taken out) :D


    I guess this is the old simple method of AI, given time the AC method might prove to be far superior but at the moment the AI in AMS are much better IMO. For balance I should mention that the AI did seem a little unnatural at 120% in the Opala (like more exit speed than I would expect given mine and their lines out of a corner.)

    I am speaking of Raceroom and PC, both are based on heavy modified rFengine...just in case someone missed the reference lol

    Over 100% difficulty AI gets more cornering grip than player. So it's not really "same car" you drive anymore, but basically cheats to give you challenge. Same as in rFactor 2

    I find the AI need to always be above 100% to give a decent race, they dont seem too bad in most situations just a few cars and mainly exiting corners where they seem to have unnatural drive off the turn. The main place I kept noticing this was out of T3 at Interlagos.

    I don't know anything about how AI cars work in RF2, AMS or AC but I had assumed (from stuff I've read here and there) that AMS AI is never really running with the same physics/car as the player. I guess I mostly assumed this because of all the talk of AC doing AI differently and having the same physics as the player rather than simplified but AC AI uses stability control IIRC which is surely more or less the same thing (different physics to player.)

    BTW I don't mind at all whether or not the AI is using the same physics as long as the result is good.

    if I recall corectly AMS had never 100% rF1 engine ... GSC had .. today it is far from rF1 experience ..

    - physics rate from 360 to 720 Hz
    - inpute refres rate from 120 to 500 Hz
    - FFB rate from 90 to 360 Hz (720Hz)
    - FFB rate independent from frames
    - min. FFB force implementation
    - low speed physics FFB impementation and its blending to normal speed physics
    - proper pneumatic trail implementation (there is no need for fake frot tyre understeer effects used in rF1) .. change for physics and FFB
    - new drivetrain, clutch, etc
    - car engine orientation .. engine relative to crankshaft works on real physics
    - brand new car engine modeling .. throttle mapping, ECU, new way how torque is generated based on throttle pedal position
    - implementation physical suspension model of dedion rear axle
    - flat spots, dirt pickup
    - implementation of DRS
    - dynamicly adjustable ARB implementation
    - changes to inertia physics that was bugged in rF code so there is no need to use fudged numbers, you put real numbers you get real results now .
    - new Turbo model ..

    yep it seems to be impossible to do AI using exactly same physics/rules ... AC is I guess quite close ... it sucks a bit to know they are basicaly cheating but still probably best AI we currently have
