Are the Special events even possible?

In my honest opinion the only issue on a controller is the user. Most don't understand the sensitivity settings nor adjust them to their liking and with Assetto being a full blown sim it is much like GT: very dulled in comparsion to a wheel and not conventionally easy to pick up and play. The only one issue I felt when I played on controller for about 10 minutes was that finding a good medium between drift handling and race handling was difficult. When I got too comfortable with drifting I felt uncontrollable with racing and vice versa. More often than not I bet the sensitivity settings would fix all these supposed issues but people don't seem to want to help themselves. Even some of the people on my own team have been complaining about not being able to use a controller well yet won't take the time to experiment and find a setup comfortable for them.

I've been on a wheel for almost 10 years now, I never use a controller anymore if I have the choice but for the one day that I couldn't take my wheel over to my buddies house I did just fine on the controller. Just an FYI too: one of my teammates is on a controller and we are neck and neck when it comes to racing on my G29.

He doesn't use a controller, so hasn't got a clue regarding our issues , therefore how can he give an honest opinion.?

 

When I have the choice I take a wheel.... There's times I don't like taking my PS4 to my friends' houses and when I don't want youngsters destroying my wheel. Try reading my whole post first maybe?

Anyways I just had a quick look and well, seems when I change back and forth from steering wheel to controller it resets my settings....Kunos? I messed around with it again just on the request of Z3phyr since I am willing to actually try and help out. Here's a base I managed to get comfortable with in the C7 Corvette around Brands Hatch:

Vibration Intensity: 50% - Shouldn't be a factor so I just put it halfway.
Speed Sensitivity: 0% - Not enough testing yet, but my guess is this is turning degrees relative to speed as with most other games.
Steering Speed: 0% - This is just the virtual wheel on your screen, higher means it spins faster causing the crazy hands issue.
Steering Deadzone: 0% - Most people know what this is by now, I just started at 0% which felt ok to me, but definitely experiment with this, i'd say up to 10-15% maybe.
Steering Filter: 40% - This one was interesting, it seemed to delay the steering input so the higher I put it, the longer the car took to react to my input, not very helpful up high but between 30-50 seemed to be a fairly sweet spot and helpful on a controller.
Steering gamma: 100% - Not enough testing yet.

Try that, change it up, not everyone will get the same settings to be comfortable.

Apologies, I stand corrected, ABS and TCS were indeed set to factory and were both active on this run. I thought I had turned TC down to zero but apparently I did that later when I tried some tuning for subsequent runs in an attempt to improve my time - which I didn't manage to do

 

I just saw this one on Youtube.



My own PB on this event with a wheel only got me Bronze (I've seen a few Gold times posted with wheels already so I'm not on the pace of the fast drivers) but this guy is only 4/10ths of a second slower with a controller, which is the blink of an eye in real terms.

 

Same problem for me after 1.03 I focused in making the hot lap, I did it all by getting the gold but these two events not, my driver level is medium high and certainly not an alien, in these two events in my opinion there is something I can't figure out if the difficulty is the time required for gold is too low or the two gt3 in question have some problem for example in monza tyre temperatures are around 70 degrees, maybe is too low?
I am very sad the two tracks I know them perfectly, I'm putting 7 times the commitment of any other hot lap obtained with gold difficult but I just can't close these two events with gold.

I'd like to know the controller settings and car setup for this video. I'm still 15 seconds off bronze. The problem for me is that any turn results in the tyres being at full lock, so the tyres are actually acting as brakes!

This morning I managed to grab the gold at Monza, then I miss Silverstone with the Audi R8 GT3 and I took all golds, but in this event are very worried really very very hard for me.

Okay I give up I can not grab the gold at Silverstone GP with the Audi R8 Ultra, it took me dozens of hours but the best lap 2.02, 3xx ... are very sorry I missed only this event to get all the hot lap with gold, but under my left foot I printed the brake pedal rubber studs of g29, a big pain hahaha
a information as possible on your pc for this hot lap time to grab the gold is the same as for consoles?
