1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Benchmark results, food for thought

in FPS games your guy will move better at high fps, aim faster. move smoother, lots of benifits. like more resolution when scrolling.

Beats me, I'll try reducing it at 4K and see if it gets the minimum fps over 60 and see how it looks. That's what's nice about the "benchmark"; it allows us to experiment and have data to evaluate the results.

    Does Benchmark allow for Apps?

I can't remember, but I did notice the other day that adding apps in game has a serious impact on FPS. Can't believe it took 1,296 hours of gameplay to realise haha

With track map, python chat, gears app, performance delta and electronics app I loose around 30fps :)

I have to say that this benchmark is not the real picture of this game.

    Proof :

I recently made an upgrade from Q9300 system to system in signature.

I think what he's saying is that FPS is not a good measure of image fluidity compared to frame time - especially in cases like AC where microstutter is apparently an issue for quite a few players. In those cases frame time is a much more accurate way to assess performance.

The "variance" value is appreciated but it's not as precise as having a detailed graph of frame times (which is obviously impractical and probably impossible in this application).

    From an OS perspective only.
Windows 8 could be giving you ~30% increase in "MIN" fps. :)
Of 'cos no way to know the exact figure, since you upgraded CPU as well.

The two online pics cannot be compared.
Two different tracks, different number of clients and the server settings could be totally different.
    Too many variables in online.

But the MIN fps are much better than before. :)

  11. Again, the min FPS does not count for crap since the benchmark has not even completed loading the event properly when it starts, and it starts with puff of heavy smoke from 15 cars.
You can get anything from 1 to 200fps, depending on your smoke settings, transparency AA and how awake is your pc (is the benchmark loaded to memory previously, or was your hd taking a nap before loading)

I don't have my results to hand but I have a 4790k@4.5ghz and a 970 at 1080p. I watch the frames and I only ever see them change from 95 to 110 with an average of about 100. Why would my variance be 3? Everything is on Max apart from mirrors, smoke and reflections.

    Thanks.

I don't know how they are calculating the variance, but at the end of the day you don't have a consistent frame rate which leads to variance in the time taken to deliver frames. If some frames take longer to deliver in 1 second the fps drop, but even if high, it could cause microstutter if that particular frame took much longer.
