1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Benchmark results, food for thought

This was with my normal settings which are:
    triple screen (multiview) rendering on
    max/ultra - AA/AF/world detail/shadow quality/mirror res+reflections/reflection rendering frequency
    medium reflection quality
Low smoke effects + show smoke in mirrors
Post processing effects on/quality normal/glare normal/crepuscular rays on/DoF off/heat haze off/driver wheel and hands off

Tried a run with multiview rendering off and surprisingly it didn't give me much extra framerate. This must well optimized by KS. Knocking reflection rendering frequency down to medium gave me +10%, turning it off altogether a little more but it looks lifeless at that setting. When you have it on ultra and you are right up behind the Evora and you see the track being reflected perfectly in the side of the car :D It did try one run with every setting I could at max, avg 34 fps.

  9. @Lord Kunos what does VARIANCE value mean? and what is the difference in values, thanks

  10. variance is the average fps variation from frame to frame. You want it as low as possible, a low variance is an indication of stable "smooth" frame rate.

  11. thanks, i have these 2 benchmarks on my main pc, the difference is FXAA disabled/enabled. i can see it has a better avg fps without fxaa.. i've never used fxaa before, should i keep it enabled or doesn't make any visual difference? don't know why it uses less cpu though, even it's only 4 % points

The benchmark atm does disable fps cap if using it, I think it would be handy if we could use the fps cap to make sure we can run it at the capped rate with min variance.

Also an option to have a run with all your onscreen apps and another fully clean of apps to be able to determine performance impact of certain apps would be very usefull I think.

Would it be possible to delay the start of the race in the benchmark. Atm it loads on the green and I think this gives odd indicators on min fps. Better if it waited on grid for say 5 seconds before green then you can easily see performance impact off the line which is generally the heaviest in terms of performance hit.

I'm using Nvidia's MFAA in their control panel so that's why i run AA on 2X ingame, so it adds up to 4X.
I should try turning it off and then see what result i get.

Btw does anyone know why it says we have so many cpu cores?, it would be correct if it was cpu threads.
