1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Please do so we can put this one to bed, along with a video :p

  2. Why not, can you attach it to post?

    @Rui
It doesn't need Senna to mash the throttle mid corner to provoke oversteer, geez.

  3. OK guys. It turns out that I'm an idiot. Last time I drove F Abarth I must have had some helps turned on. I checked it again a few moments ago (I changed diff power to 90%) and it slides and drifts at Magione.
I'm sorry to you all. Next time I'll double check before I post something stupid.

  4. Don't worry Radek. Anyway, meanwhile I have uploaded this video (sadly AC doesn't save full replays, I had some big powerslide at Vallelunga...)

    Impressive driving David!
BTW, can someone explain this tire curve?[IMG]

  6. I think only Stefano or Aris can give you a reply here :p

It seems that everything is right in the sim, behavior youtube videos looks like the simulator. There's just a different video, but may be due to many factors.

This dev app shows the dynamic tyre curve as it is generated real time by the sim. It depends on a hell load of factors, like slipangle, ratio, temperatures, load, wear, velocity, flex, humidity, horoscope, big bang radiation, solar hot spots and nasdaq gains or loses... we're actively working on including apple rumors and google android version name prediction too...

seriously this is not a static curve and that's why sometimes when the car is moving you get "non typical" graphs.
There's a reason the dev apps are not enabled normally :D

    Hi guys.
I have read quickly this thread but I have a question concerning this Formula behavior.
In fact I have been thinking during few days that my wheel had clipping. But In fact now I realise that cars, and especially the Formula Abarth is doing quick skipping in turns. Did you notice that too? Is it a suspension problem? A tyre modele problem?
Driving problem? Sure this appears much more if I come into a curve with too many speed but even at "normal" speed it can happens.

Cold tires, ambient and track temperature, tire condition, setup... try to modify the rear Toe to negative, less aero, more pressure on rear tires, up the rear ARB... this car can have many grip or not, the setup is the key many times.

Ok, thank you Viru. Noticed on other cars so I will test this.
In my mind cold tyres should give more sliding and not skipping but I will check this.

Oh no Patrick, was a repy to the OP hehe, the skipping is normal with a formula that weights just half a tonne and rides on slicks and has stiff suspensions, but a soften dampers could help, up the car a bit and soften the dampers.

Maybe in the videis they drive with hard tyres at low temps. I changed to hard tires in AC and it slides a lot more, similar to this real live vids. Also i recognized that in AC the standard setups are all for safe behavior, you can make it faster and then it becomes more tricky to drive too. I like that way, because in rF2 i have to change the setup to just get a lap without driving on ice.

I know very well how tires work... that curve is not normal also considering the influence of stars position (maybe it depends on the spread respect to BUND). ;-)

You know how tyres work, but you didn't read my post, or probably trying to find something.
As I said, this is not the normal curve that happens on the tyre, but depends on a lot of factors that won't necessarily happen to the tyre at that point that you're driving, as for example temperature related and/or wear.

Also, permit me a note here, not trying to be arrogant or something so please forgive me. I'm not also pointing the finger to the OP or anybody else, but it is a more generic discussion that I'm sure if you think a little bit about it, you'll understand.

It would be useful to everybody if people would take the time to scratch the surface and go a bit deeper. Driving such a complex simulator as AC for 10 minutes, 1 day or 2 days and screaming "this is not realistic, this is very realistic, too much grip, too low grip, too much this, too much the other" is really not enough. Using just the default setup on such complex cars is again not enough. Thinking something is wrong because it doesn't suit your driving style from other sims (steering lock, linearities, FF etc). Choosing just one video from hundreds online just to showcase something that you think is not real is again not enough without knowing the rest of the story.
I could go on and on, but I'm already boring you, I know, I do this to myself too lol.

We've been working 3 years to get up to this physics level. Is it perfect? of course not, probably after 4-5 years we will look at AC and think "how on earth did we drove that thing?" because everything gets better. But take your time to search more, try different compounds, different setups, see what others do. I though I could drift well (I can hihihi), and then I see other people drifting with AC and I'm speechless. If you can't do something, doesn't mean that others can't too.

I don't want to be arrogant, nor to deprecate your AMAZING work in realizing the best, most realistic (and by a strong margin) driving simulator in the market.
    BUT
If you are trying to say that a tire force curve raising with slip after the first peak may happen in any temperature, load, environment condition... sorry, you have to be a lot more persuasive. ;-)

It could be that when the sim was "testing" that portion of the graph, the tyre was very unloaded, and so has a different 'peak' to when it had lots of load or temperature etc.

It would help if you'd think about what he wrote before dismissing it.

The car was almost stationary when I took the photo, but the curve is almost the same in all conditions.

The only big change in tire behaviour is speed dependent:

On the left the friction curve below (approx) 108km/h ; on the right the friction curve above 108km/h. Please consider that this is a 'step' change, not a continuous one, and the transition speed (to my understanding) is not influenced by other parametes.

Maybe those are just some bugs related to the tire app and not to the tire model ;)

  19. That curve should have the same shape more or less all the time, what's wrong with that? Load, camber, pressure etc will move that curve up and down, that's all. Maybe tire load can move the peak to the left to the right a bit, but that's all.
