1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Just made this video for anyone trying to drift with no clue how to start. Hopefully this is an okay forum to post this in. This was done with a logitech g27 by the way.

Many thanks! Just what I needed. I have avoided drifting so far, because it's usually difficult (for me) and with less good sim's, you learn the way the program wants you to drive. I will give it a go this week end, and rest now and then from hot lapping.

Hmm, I shall have to give this a try. How many degrees of rotation in the OP?

What A nice tutorial! Really cool!! It would be much nicer and helpful for beginner like me once you enable pedal app in the video. Would you? :)

    nice tutorial dude

I suck at drifting, only attempted it a few times but could never get above 100 points, although when I went to show my mate how bad I was at drifting "watch how crap at drifting I am fella..." I proceeded to get an all time high score of 1300 odd points - just goes to show what a little bit of pressure can do

the OP's video has the pedal inputs on? or are you talking about something else? you can see the amount of ffb clipping going on though

    900 degrees.

i thought i had that enabled though. in the top left of the screen you can see how far each pedal is being pushed.

    One question.

In the comments of your video clip, "counter(steering)" seems like rotating steering wheel to center position(direction) rather than wheel's natural sliding direction in initial full throttle condition.

My understanding is correct?? As the "counter" direction meant here seems different than I've known, I'm a little confused.

    1) " but when it tries to spin back the second times... counter it!"

    2) "instead of countersteering right away, try holding the wheel for a while..."

Yeah I was trying to break it up into small chunks to focus on, so like I showed when you enter a drift and just let go of the wheel completely, you'll see the wheel spin one way (front tires following the direction of momentum as the car gets sideways), and then when the tires grip the rear of the car will want to snap back the other way to follow the oversteered angle of the front tires, causing that second spin, so basically you want to counter that second action (which means straightening the front wheels in this case) before the rear end catches grip completely. I think the best way to learn is to learn how to enter the drift, and learn how to exit straight. That way you can fill in the middle.

Let me know if it helps though, I was trying to keep it simple without giving out too many confusing instructions.

Good explanation! Although I knew the theory, I wan't able to drift but just simple oversteer correction. Now I think I can follow your steps to be accustomed to drift. Thanks! :)

    Well done.

I bought AC just for one thing tbh: Drifting:)
Or at least having fun with some sideways action on racetracks whenever it occurs.
And keeping myself focussed as well: we're doing driftdays about 3 to 4 times a year in the spring/summerseason.

Oncoming 23rd of march we're doing it again @ http://www.atp-papenburg.de/

AC is a fantastic drifttrainer , excellent physics, a very good feel vs the real life experience imo.

    Cheers

I tried above steps. I was able to msnage 180 degree counter steering angle although maintaining the middle range is still open point.

BTW in case counter steering angle is around 360 degree which means I have to cross my arms to make 360 degree, I don't have idea how to be natural.

    1) To make drifting which requires 360 degree countersteering, I didn't catch the point for acceleration yet. It may needs more time to be accustomed.

    2) For 360 degree counter steering, do you use cross handling or non-cross handling? And any tip for this case?

Dang, I'm having some difficulty making it oversteer, just skids. I was following @JoelTGB's speed in 2nd gear but it just skids. Any tips?
