1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Poor graphic quality after upgrading to nvidia 334.89

    Solved!
(edit...do not know how to change thread title)

I upgraded my Nvidia drivers to 334.89 last week.

My graphics for AC do not look very good and I am also seeing some "sparkles," particularly on cars, after installing the latest nvidia drivers. There have been no change in FPS. My other games work fine and look great (iRacing now looks better than AC! haha). I mucked around with the nvidia control panel settings, but cannot make any improvement to the poor AC graphics.

I attached two files showing my nvidia control panel settings. What nvidia control panel settings are people using for AC? and what are your in-game AC settings?

any help and/or recommendations is appreciated! thanks
    :)

Try disabling AA on transparencies. It's off by default and Assetto Corsa says to use default settings and favour in game graphical control.

I don't have any sparklies on these drivers. Do you over clock your GPU at all? If so that can cause them too.

No issues here either, possibly overclocked card and overheating maybe your fan isnt spinning up properly? Check your gpu temps ingame to see if there is nothing going on with the fan speed and temps.

Did you mess with the size of the HDR bloom effect ? Anyway this is useless without a pic
Also with the modern GPUs, since GDDR5, there is error-correction, so you don't get artifacts from overclock and such, you get low performance because of the error correction. So can't be related unless you are also getting very low fps

computer and GPU are not overclocked. All fans and temperatures are good. As mentioned in first post all other games are working fine with new drivers. it is only AC that looks horrible.

I will try to get a screenshot and upload here.

Would you guys mind taking a screenshot of your Nvidia control panel settings and post it here? thanks!! :)

    AC 8xAF 4xAA HDRon(100).png
notice the jaggies around window and sparkles around wheel wells (it looks worse in vid than static image)
8x AF, 4x AA, HDR on at 100% saturation

how do i take images in-game? I can only capture one at a time using PRINTSCRN key.

These images do not convey the poor quality due to their small size compared to having the game running. That is why I need to see images of your nvidia control panel settings to try some other settings.

images come out so small here to see the poor graphic quality. I can send the full size image to anyone if you PM an email

3 of you guys have the same 334.89 drivers without any problems. It sounds like this graphics problem is something related to my PC.

I will try downloading an older file of certified nvidia drivers, install it and see what happens.

I don't understand what you are talking about o_O
If you are talking about the aliasing - try resetting to default in nvidia control panel (top right corner), then put 4X\8X in game ... if you put it on OFF in game, you can't use it with nvidia CP too on DX11.. possible with the AA flags on DX9 games, not here.
Try setting like 4X in game and 4X super-sampling in nvidia CP if 8Xmsaa in game is not enough for you.

I don't understand what you are talking about either!
settings above are in-game. AFAIK, there is no HDR option in nvidia control panel? o_O
Just give me a damn image of your nvidia control panel settings! don't worry about the stuff above.

reinstalled drivers 334.89 using geforce experience program. I also downloaded drivers from nvidia site and may try on my own to delete and reinstall 334.89.
Are you using 334.89? there is no MSAA in the nvidia control panel with these new drivers (at least in my set of drivers). It is now something called CSAA. IIRC, msaa was in my older drivers but no setting for that now.

used 4x AA in game. 8x CSAA (no MSAA option with drivers 334.89) and 4x supersampling in nvidia control panel.
    no difference. still jaggies.
when you post your nvidia control panel image showing settings i will try those out. late and tired here. time to sleep.

use nvidia inspector, not nvidia control panel .. its a 100kb software that features a lot more options.
then set 4X in game , enhance AA in inspector, and 4X sparse grip supersampling ..

Here are some screens using these drivers with no issues, these are ingame screen grabs using the F7 key which then get saved under Documents/Asseto Corsa/Screens

I will check for a download of this nvidia inspector.

Ok, I could not find anything of this nvidia inspector at the nvidia site. i assume this is not a nvidia supported software?

I did find the nvidia inspector download at guru 3d for version 1.9.7.2. I downloaded the file and will try it out in the near future if I can't correct my current settings.
    thanks.
