1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Porsche 917/30 - some ideas how to deal with the beast

RSR does the job. We regularly host RIR but it is often quite quiet :(

I've made 1.12.5xx just the second best lap on RSR but...1.10 it's really hard to reach!

Looks like I have to test it on the RIR as well once. But since I "only" managed 1:21.7 on the classic Silverstone after many laps, I suppose I won't be competitive on the RIR... silver and gold achievement won't be achievable to me (no idea how anybody can do a 1:18).

Anyway, so far it really "feels" like the most challenging car. The last time I had to be that carefull with throttle and brake was decades ago with GPL *g*

insidesimracing or emptybox said something similar about the brakes, I had the opposite thought. its very stable under braking and they dont lock easy but also stop the car well. I guess it depends on brake bias or maybe user pedals. well worth trying the car at RIR, even if you cant beat Donohue its a track the car actually raced, well worth a go just for that reason.

the car raced Silverstone in an Interserie event I think but it was probably running very low boost or the track was covered in ice and pedestrian crossings or something as it did a best of 1:24 according to racingsportscars.com

Yes, you're right, I should only have said "throttle". As for the brakes, you can pretty floor them. I think I slightly have to lift the foot a few seconds later when the car is already slower. But overall, braking is pretty nice in this car. I think somebody also wrote you need to use the engine brake - I noticed the same ;-) It seems to help the car to turn into the corner when you shift down early.

Online racing and hotlapping are 2 pair of shoes though. I'm always a lot slower online because I drive more carefully and because I don't push the car to the limit. Reaching the finish line and not crashing is number one rule.

Edit: And yes, I'll give RIR a try ;-)

Nicely done William, very fast! Alien pace is low 9's then. I think with Aris' recommendation to use around 98% grip the pace would be close to Donohue. I find it hilarious that you guys are using my setup :D seems i got lucky with that one!

  8. I tried lower front but somehow it made my car explode at every crests lol

i think there might be a fix coming for atleast 1 of the bumps at RIR. its launched my front end skyward in both the C9 and 917/30 more than once (mid Esses)

If there are more places I need to know where. can't fix something I don't know about...

EDIT: The only spot I found was turn 4 in the esses which Andy brought to my attention. I drove around in a slammed C9 and that was the only spot that gave me any trouble.

  11. T1. Could be the car bottoming out and AC's weird collision thing at work. Mid esses I also had the car spear up to the sky randomly.

Yes the esses issue is fixed for next update. For T1 are you talking about where the black line is over the tunnel?

  13. Pretty much as soon as you hit the change of elevation. Can't pinpoint exactly tho, didn't think more of it, happened on the Nordschleife even.

OK yeah I can't fix ACs shortcomings when it comes to their collision model. But I would like to make sure RIR is fully compatible with the one iconic car we have that actually drove there. I might wait until after PP2 to update RIR to make sure the 962 works properly. I will double check the T1 bumps and see if something can be done. Thanks for the info!
