1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

How on earth should one drive 918 to the limit ? Especially at Nordschleife.

It is so difficult to understand what is going on...

Lost the number how many 918 I have crashed, they probably haven't produced that many in real life.

    They have produced 918 Porsche 918 ;)

Well, I have finally tested all these beasts and I love them a lot, except for the 917 and 935, ugly cars that only want to kill me :D
    Wish I had a better bank account, I wouldn't say no to a little Cayman S :p

    Brilliant job Kunos !

Yeah, ugly and widow makers, but love them for that :D

Almost forgotten, FMOD improvements are dramatic, the sound is really enjoyable in 1.9.1 !!!
My bank says it will be a Type-R or a Focus RS, but not a Cayman....exotics animals are forbidden :)

Uncommon, but not unheard of. There are a few newer sports cars out there that will blip the throttle for you even with a proper manual stick.

"cars like the Nissan 370Z, Porsche 911, and now this new C7 Corvette Stingray, offer an innovation on the old stick-shift transmission. These cars’ manual transmissions can automatically match revs while the driver brakes, shifts, and turns the car."

Edit: And apparently the Cayman has it if you enable "sports plus" mode.

"It does auto rev match for you if you put it into Sport Plus, which I find unnecessary and the antithesis of the intent of a manual gearbox. The good news is that Porsche’s rev match is easily the best on the market, especially if you’re driving at the limit on a track. I’m on the tall side, which makes heel/toe in the Cayman kind of difficult.

I hate to admit this, but for the first time ever, I relied on and enjoyed auto rev match on track."

The Mustang has it also! Quite need, if you get your head around.
But don't relay on it, it may bite you.:D

917/30 appears difficult, but even with 100% turbo is still more easier than Lotus 98t.

Yup. I wouldn't have bought the gt4 if it forced you to have auto rev matching on when using "track" settings. Luckily it's just its own button that I can always leave off. MotorTrend has aptly labeled the auto blip button on the 911r (the sport button):

They don't bother me in-game though, you can heel'n'toe just as well as you can in a car that doesn't have the auto-blip.
The 718 Cayman's transmission is one of the most precise manuals in the game imho, quite satisfying to "row" through the gears :D.

    Huh?

Don't get me wrong, but I don't think the 98T is a hard car to drive.
Hard to learn, yes, but once you've understood how you should drive it, it's really easy to handle (due to the high downforce) and a real blast to drive. ;)

Actually I tried to drive it without heel'n'toe and it feels just weird. I keep wondering how I manage to drive without heel'n'toe in a real car (on the street).
There it feels natural, but in AC, I can't keep my foot away from the throttle. ^^

I'm glad though that the Cayman has a manual.
I like flappy paddles on racing cars, but in street cars, I feel disconnected somehow.
Sure, I'm faster with paddles than with a stick, but that's not really down to the gearbox, but rather that I'm just better on the brake with my left foot.

I always right-foot brake, regardless of transmission, I could never get accustomed to braking with my left foot. We'll get to experience both the manual and the PDK in the Boxster, so we'll see how much of a difference it makes.
I think the reason why it feels so weird to shift in AC without heel'n'toe is because of the clutch engagement, which is a bit jittery and inconsistent (broken, to be more specific).

Ive always left foot braked. Feels weird in a car, however its second nature in a kart, you have no choice there, so you either get used to it or you are seconds off the pace.

    Interesting. ;)

For me, it's just that ever since I was doing simracing seriously (since GTR/GTL), I was always braking with my left foot. First, because I didn't have a clutch, then because I already got used to it.
In GTL (because it didn't penalize you for not using the clutch, and because I didn't have an H-Shifter back then), I was actually skipping the clutch on downshifts and braking with my left foot (just blipping the throttle on the shifts).
It took until AC until I "really" started using heel'n'toe (although it's not really "heel" in my setup), so another thing that AC achieved. :D

Trust me, if you're doing left-foot braking for over 10 years, then it suddenly feels wrong to do it in a sim with the right foot.
I sort of got used to it nowadays, but I'm still quite a bit better with my left foot, especially since it's easier to modulate the brake if you don't have to blip the throttle at the same time (learning to heel'n'toe properly is much harder than learning to brake with your left foot).
Yes, the comparison of the two Boxsters will be very interesting.

  17. Even on the street not doing it is weird... On track it's just asking for a spinout, unless you're going slow.

  18. Berry

    Berry Alien

@William Levesque: I somehow manage to live without it, tried it once for a little bit, seemed very counter-intuitive to me, I'll stick to being slow I suppose.

  19. On track ? What car do you drive ?

  20. Berry

    Berry Alien

I was talking about the game, in stick-shift cars it just complicates my legs too much, on PDK/Seq cars it doesn't seem to make me any faster, so I didn't bother training too much.(I'm talking about LFB, not heel and toe)
