1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

A list of lap times from Assetto Corsa and real life. Please correct and add any information you can find for cars created before 2000 that feature in Assetto Corsa.

*car* = real car may be a different version to the one in game.

Green = RSR lap time is atleast 1 second faster than real life.
Red = RSR lap time is atleast 1 second slower than real life.
Blue = RSR lap time is within 1 second of real life.

Anyone who are saying that 917/30 is easy should try to catch Donohue... Best I could do at RIR short was 1'17. I know there are guys who are 3-5 seconds faster than me. It still doesn't get down to 1'11.

@Emerson Every time, even when it is probably unnecessary. But heel and toe is not everything, being able to actually rev match precisely by this technique is the real deal. It is complete mystery to me how to do properly, with Lotus 25 for example, I've been told to be soft and gentle.

Lol I even use left foot braking, even though it is completely wrong most of the time hahaha It is more rallying technique, If I'm right.

How you will pick best AC times @andy-riches by ALOOG and RSR best laps ?
By the way, I wonder if it would be good idea to get every track into a spoiler, could be comfortable, and OP is going to spread quite a bit, I think

thanks good info :) do you know when the short tail was used?

yes RSR is wiped every now and then with big changes in AC. there is currently only 1 car in that list that is pretty much confirmed to be the correct car and that is the 1963 Lotus 25. All the others marked with ** should be taken as a rough guide until confirmed or proved to be too different to the model in game

if Silverstone definitely didnt change between 1949 and 1974 the Lotus 25 looks even worse off here vs RL than it did at Monza. there is a couple of seconds left to gain in AC im sure but i would be very surprised if anyone can get within 7 seconds of the real life time. seems like it might be the tyres that are the problem.

    Year: 1967
    Driver(s): D.Hobbs
Conditions: Dry, damp patch at Becketts, 18degreesC
    Lap Time: 1:35'7
And they were pretty much certain that it could have been ~2-4s quicker, because thye had some issues while testing.

Best I can do is 1'36'5 with "fast" track.

The document I have, also suggests that best time of GT40 was 1'35 straight by P.Hawkins. It was in 1967

Note that the GT40 in AC is a '68 "quasi-Mk1" build, but the Silverstone time may have been a Mk1 or a Mk2 (big block) and in any event the car would've been a bit heavier than what we have in AC as ours is lighter than typical. So carry a certain margin for error with that time... I'll have to check our reference book again to see if there are more details on that lap. (There's a whole chapter on the GT40 in the XJ book...)

The XJ13 at the time was running with brake issues which turned out to be an incorrect hydraulic cylinder. And not only an incorrect part, but when it was taken off and torn down they found swarf (metal shavings from the milling process) in one of the valves, compromising it. So the brakes were basically hosed. And the tires would've been the narrower, older Dunlops and not the set which is on the car in AC. I'd expect guys at the sharp end of league grids to see 1:32-ish in AC, @18C and 97-98% grip?

Also note that the default setup we've modeled in AC is the one from the Silverstone test sheets, so it should be pretty well tuned for that particular track thanks to Mr. Hobbs and co.

my best so far at 100% grip is a 1:34.310 (not flat shifting.) there is definitely time left but i would be surprised to see people running 32's at 98% grip!

    best so far.

Ok, maybe that was a bit optimistic... :p

(Although you're only 1.5sec off, really, track grip notwithstanding.)

There were 2 drivers present on that day, Hobbs and Richard Attwood. Hobbs, who had driven the car previously, did the 1:35.7. Attwood, who hadn't, did a 1:38.1. Attwood was no slouch behind the wheel, I think that Hobbs time is ... alienesque? ;)

In which case the 33-35sec range actually feels about right. 1:32 may be a proper alien time.
