Yeah, sort of makes sense but not the way they've gone about it. Basically, GT3 is argued to be a customer platform but certain races (admittedly, not in the US) require works GT3 entries; namely Nurburgring 24, Spa 24, Bathurst and now Sepang. In addition, because it's a saturated market, no new entrants are going to be able to offer the support of the German brands with established technical and parts supply.

So they are taking flak, rightly or wrongly, for entering a Pro-Am category with a works team, but the fault is really with no Pro GT3 category and the lack of GT convergence IMO.

So to make a car that can win its class everywhere outside Le Mans (including Super GT in Japan), you need a car people expect to be sold to customers.

That said, GTLM is there so you're right, they've not really got anything to complain about.

 

Lexus and TMG have been active for a while at the Nürburgring, the Lexus RC-F GT3 has been racing there (and in Super GT) already. If a customer programme after several years is now too expensive and the GT3 market too competitive for them I doubt a GTE/GTLM factory programme will be more profitable or convince more people to buy Lexus. I was hoping they stay and try to compete and not potentially jump ship in a year. :/

 

American Muscle cars were about speed and acceleration (relative to average American autos) - not handling but, having owned Camaro's, Chevelles and more, they were fun in their day relative to the common options. Today, they hold a certain romantic nostalgia for many but, I don't think they would be particularly great to drive in AC. Some Race (Trans AM Series) versions would be great to have though. I wouldn't reject some nicely done Resto-mod versions either; Old-school looks with modern track-suspension, power and tech.

 

I hope the Laguna Seca dlc comes with more current U.S. sports cars. Low hanging fruit due to current cars are the Corvette Z06, Corvette Grand Sport and the Mustang GT350R.

Then add the Viper ACR, the new Ford GT and the last gen Corvette Z06/ZR1. New Camaros would be nice too. AC has a fabulous car selection but US cars (and tracks)are underrepresented.

I doubt they'll implement every current flavour of Corvette and Mustang given that they added the Stingray and GT.

I think you're right, but the Z06 and GT350R are much more interesting cars than the 2 we have. GT350R drives a lot different than the GT, much more track oriented. I think it would be very popular. Oh well.

since this thread is extremely hard to follow lol. I'll add to the many wishlists, I would like KS characters in the game as in maybe we can go into the new showroom and interact. Marco can greet us and sign us for a championship! Aris can give driving lessons! And Stefano can play the guitar as we cross the finish line

 

Oh. Hmm. Well, if you're going to go there ... what about cats? Track cats. Pit cats. In general, a greater feline presence, perhaps in the stands too, would be nice.

I'm really curious about how the Quattro Gr. B could handle. His road legal mate we already have in the game is pretty much easy to struggle with.

 

Don't think it was ever known to be a great handling car. But I really like the road legal homologation version we already have, though it probably doesn't have much in common.
