1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

About the Lotus 49 , here is what the changelog says:
"- Updated Lotus 49 minimum weight".
That may be the reason for the increased performance.

I was stunned by the gear ratios of the transmission as you were, but they're 100% on the money. I actually paused the game and went hunting for information on the web regarding the transmission/gear ratios. From this website https://www.supercars.net/blog/1984%E2%86%921985-ferrari-288-gto/ they have the transmission information:
    Code:
    transmission 5-Speed Manual
    gear ratios 2.77:1, 1.72:1, 1.23:1, 0.96:1, 0.77:1
    final drive 2.90:1
That jives perfectly with the US Spec vehicle. For the EVO model the gear ratios are:
    Code:
    Number of gears: 5

    Gear ratios (overall):
    I 3.67 (10.64)

    II 2.28 (6.61)

    III 1.62 (4.7)

    IV 1.27 (3.68)

    V 0.76 (2.2)
    Final Drive 2.9
I just wonder why we have multiple Final Drives to choose from. I haven't looked in the thread concerning this 1.15 upgrade so maybe someone explained it in there.

  3. I haven't tried the 288 yet, but hearing a lot of complaints about the gearing - personally I like those kind of quirks in street cars, I like having to drive around things like that which seem a bit awkward, makes it interesting.

    288 unstable? Mess? o_O
I did change camber and front toe straight away, but would it really change the car so much? I drove it on SV and it was very planted. Guess I'll try again with default setup.

I'm only a bit bothered that the longest gear is the default one, but maybe that's the one that was default on the cars IRL.

In AC you can simply go for the shortest final ratio and you're good to go, although I prefer the gearing version with the longer 1st gear.

Only drove it with ST yet, the only thing I noticed were that the tyres run a bit on the cold side.

I just drove it with temporary Street Tires round Nords a few minutes ago. And it's a completely different car now.
Stable, agile and fun to throw around. No instability under braking.
    Stock setup.
Could it be that this one doesn't like semi slicks. BC it was a bloody mess yesterday. Couldn't make it through Hohenrain Chikane the first couple of times. And don't ask about Wehrseifen. It's was that awefull.
On Streets I really come to like it.

Ok so how do you "manage" the power systems in the 2017 F1 car? Do you need to press a button to keep deploying or is it just now an automated power delivery which you need to set before you hit the track?

It's automated profiles, if you need more infos either use the KS gears app or Sidekick, both show the relevant settings.
With the electronics app you can see the current setup, all 4 values (MGU-K delivery, MGU-K recovery, Engine Brake and MGU-H mode) can be changed while driving, you just need to map those in controls.

Go to your controller settings in the main menu and map 4 buttons for the F1 engine stuff. Then, refer to this guide for how to properly use them.

It does have auto-deployment along with manual. Your kers button is the manual deployment if you havent mapped that yet either.

As I stated in my post above, the stock gearing of the Kunos 288 GTO is perfect 100% US spec. 1st and 2nd gear are that tall. Now I know what car Sammy Hagar was really singing about in "I Can't Drive 55". He couldn't get his car out of 2nd gear and I barely did on Bilster Berg. Only the long downhill section and a teeny portion before that ever saw 3rd gear.

What I don't know yet is how to properly set the EVO spec gearbox. Obviously, I switch to the EVO gear settings with the drop-down menu, but which Final Gear ratio do I select? There are 3 to choose from. Obviously, it isn't the same one as the US spec - there would have been no need to include other FG ratios if that were the case.

IMO it's great on 90s tyres. Well balanced with a slight tendency towards understeer at corner entry and oversteer mid-corner to exit.
The former can be improved by increasing the front camber a bit, the latter doesn't need curing, it makes the car fun.

Also started to drift it around the ring, but haven't yet found the sweet spot there, need a bit more practice. It's doable though.
Brake instability? Never noticed any of that.

Apart from that, driving such a car with SM tyres, in my opinion, is just wrong.
That's liking mounting a turbo charger on a Miura, just wrong. ;)

The Evo spec gearbox is more like a 4 gear + overdrive.
I like US spec with the shortest final ratio.

    Damn right.

Is it possible to drive the GTO *without* having a semi?

Maybe things will calm down when the novelty wears off.

  19. Interesting comments about the Lotus 49. I have only driven this car for a few laps of Silverstone National, but I noted last night that I was significantly quicker in the Ferrari 312/67, so either something has been changed on the Lotus 49, or I was driving in "muppet" mode last time

I'm talking (typing:)) from memory (Ferrari Book), the 288 GTO was built for the Group B race series (the Porsche 959 was also qualified). Since the 250 GTO the 288 GTO was the first race car that could be legally driven on the road. However the 288 GTO never raced because the Gourp B was cancelled. Both the suspension height (road and track use) and gear ratio (track layout) changes were possible.
I don't remember if the book has any info about the different ratios and I don't remember how many final ratios where available to set but Kunos doen'st usually mess the data, so it must be accurate.
