1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Pit stops'll be good when they come... Imagine though in Pro setting, when the mechanics drop your wheel nuts and mess-up your race. Oh the fun.

I can't imagine AC surviving if they don't provide pitstops in a timely manner after 1.0 is released. :(

I know I would have thought twice about picking AC up if I knew there would be no pit stops. If I would think twice why wouldn't anyone else? This reminds me of the no in-car view in Grid2. "Only 5% of people even use it what's the point?" They said. Well they are at least 6 sales down just from people I know, surly this is no different.

"Nascar Heat" ReleaseDate: August 28, 2000 (US) Had pitstops which even came with an animated pitcrew! :) This sim is still surviving today do to it's hundreds of mods, tracks and add-ons!!

  5. everysim had pitstops,
AC will not be different, it will have too, but what is stunning is that it will come out in 1.0 without it

Well we all wondered how Kunos was going to handle multiplayer and what it would look like. This tells us A LOT .... races will be no different than what we have now... 5 laps or so and that's it. Damage modelling needn't be fleshed out at all at that rate; why would you want damage if you couldn't fix it? Fuel becomes a moot point. Even tyre wear needn't be simulated at all. (in v1.0)
I'd still buy AC as is... no doubt. But this is somewhat of a minor setback imo.

PitStops=strategy, and endurance is imo must have for any title to survive longer than a season.
Usually after 12-18 months all cars and tracks are "used up" in leagues and endurance is always welcome as sth different.

I sure hope pitstops will be on the top of to-do list after 1.0. AC literally screams for the strategic element, as well as the ability to perform oportunistic moves. Looking forward to 1.1 :D.

I hope they will come soon after 1.0. Pit stop are really important.

  11. What I would like to see is the possibility to make a MP-race where you could race ex. 40 laps on Imola and make one or two (obligatory) pitstops just like in DTM. Pitstops make a race more challenging.
    A simulation needs pitstops ...
Prolonging the 1.0 version and make a quick repair and refuel version first then later perhaps improve this feature would be fine :)

I guess the best you could do now is to have a private server where you agree all to do one or two drive throughs. Would sorta bring back the element of timing your pitstop. It's not a great work around but you could do it short term. Of course you would need a server full of people you trust won't cheat.

Performance is important! So tech that makes it possible to drive with big fields, like reduced details for cars on medium range or dont show them at high distances!

i think a Sim as AC want's it to be "your RACING Simulator" MUST have all the elements like repairable Damage and Pitstops
Look at DTM Exp, it's half the fun with no Pitstops
othervise i can go back to Forza "Motorsport" where you have damage but no possibility to fix it in Races
i can remember some Endurance Races where Drivers had some accidents and complete Aero damage which could not be fixed while the race
and theyr laptimes where 5 sec slower than the rest = RageQuits

BTW: The point with the release-version and the critic of magazines and reception of customers ("not even pit stops?! While far less content then GT/Forza?!") makes me worry.

Its indeed so, if you fail with 1.0, 1.1 or 1.9 will not change it. I dont know how big the success is currently, but I dont think the sales will be that much more with 1.0, cause the Sim-fans allready got it, plus some how stumbled on it on steam or a gamingsite, where still many didnt even mentioned it.
At least not without dropping a marketing bomb.
And afterall there are still the pirates.

And I dont know how well calculated the planing is for the further development of AC if a few months are passed and while the DLC-politics are nice, cause Kunos are rather humble with the prices, it doesnt bring it that much money, I assume. I wonder how sure it is it will be a success over the next few years and the further development secure.

Even if reviewers decide to slam the game for not having pitstops.. Big ****ing deal.. They will all say the same thing.. that AC feels the best in terms of driving. Being that is the CORE of this game, I think it's a very strong foundation for the developers to build upon. Now let's let them build it.....

I think if Kunos made it clear on release that pitstops were coming asap after release and that even more features will come over the next 5 years then potential buyers will be less worried. If pitstops were mandatory for them they may just wait until it's added, especially seeing as to the more casual fan than assetto will easily look one of the most appealing new racing games to come on PC. Project Cars is probably the most other tempting game on PC to more casual fans (casual covering a very wide range of people) but who knows when that will come. I curse myself for not buying one of the tool packs for that game :(

Simcades are not very well catered for on PC and Kunos are clearly looking to get extra sales from this section, Project cars is the only other real competition for this area. Note I know this is a very much a sim but Kunos have made it clear they want to grab some simcade people and make it more accessible with aids and controller support etc.

I think the concept of a "release" is outdated now. AC was on my HD months ago so it was released months ago.

It was released while still under development. Development isn't going to stop with 1.0, that's just another version on the continuous development road. We will get pit stops, Kunos say it's intended, just not in a months time.

Having a final product is very important cause it means that a good base of the game is stable, bug free and ready to sell, aswell for modders to start creating content to it! From this on all that comes is a bonus (and there will be a lot for sure).

Just watch rFactor2, they don't have a final stable version (they'll develop it until it's financially possible) and lots of buyers like me or modders are angry with them because you don't know what base game you can count on in future! Right now i just don't start it for months, still buggy and with bad performance, i think it would be better for them to solve major bugs and do some optimization than unpleasing all us buyers with those awful news...
