1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Upgrading to a 34" ultrawide monitor

    Hey,

I'm considering upgrading my monitor to a 34" 100/144hz ultrawide curved monitor and was wondering if it will have a negative impact on the performance of the sim?

Currently I run it mainly on high settings with no issues on a regular 19" 60hz.

I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to PC specs, using a build that my brother put together for me a number of years ago.

    Spec:

    i5-4960K CPU @ 3.50ghz
    8GB RAM
    GeForce GTX 970 GPU

    Thanks for any help!

Your new monitor has a higher resfresh rate and probably higher resolution. Basically there are much more pixels for the PC to draw.

Looking at your pc specs you might struggle a bit. Probably will have to lower the graphics settings and won't be able to run the game at a super high fps.

Generally speaking every higher resolution your computer has to calculate will reduce the performance - but that does not mean you will be slower.
34" Ultrawide Monitors (assuming we are talking about 21:9 aspect ratio) are available in two different resolutions AFAIK:
    • 2560 x 1080
    • 3440 x 1440
I am using the lower resolution myself and performance impact is marginal (had a standard 27" HD 1920 x 1080 before) but the visibility into corners is much better. On the other hand the lower resolution is not what you want if you also do "real work" on that monitor (Excel, Word...). Therefore I recommend you assess your needs first and decide based on your priorities.

And once you got the 34" 21:9 Monitor you should never drive ACC on a 49" 32:9 monitor or you will regret the 34" and wonder why you did not buy the 49" in the first place....

Alright thanks for the tips. I was mainly looking at 34" because they are less than half the price of a decent 49". If I also upgraded to 16gb RAM would that help? Or is it the other components that may cause issues? Cheers

Mate, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I had a similar spec to you - same processor - but had 16GB ram and a GTX 1080. Granted my monitor is 35" ultra wide, but I really struggled to run ACC on even low graphics settings. I was getting 3 second pauses offline and MP. Ended up upgrading to a Ryzen 3800X.

Thanks for the reply AJ. Yeah, I've asked a few different people and it's looking like a bunch of hardware is in order. Just gonna have to wait a few more months to get a new monitor, oh well.

I upgraded to a 34" ultrawide back in December on a GTX 1080 with an i7 8700k and 32gb of ram. It works well enough, but I am noticing even with that and streaming, which I do for every race that I am losing out on some frames. It's certainly doable, but the experience is not perfect. I'd recommend waiting and getting a bunch of hardware at once. Plus, it feels so good to do it all at once.
