1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Hi! Is it mandatory to link this forum to my Steam account. What i really like about this forum is AC for AC, i'm not to warm with the idea of being connect to Steam, for me Steam is only a marketing platform. I do have the impression of an intrusion from them. If i have to do so, i will try tried to follow the devellopement of AC from another forum. Thank you for allowing me to express myself.

    I still belive in freedom of choice.

    Of course we'll ask users with private Steam profile that ask for support, to make their Steam profile public for a moment, just to permit us to check AC authenticity. After that they can set their Steam profile private again.
    Sorry but it's the "less intrusive" way to give us a bit, just a bit, of control about pirated software.

    it would be nice if it didn't wipe your existing forum password

    I had to try and login about 20 times, caught in a captcha and password loop

    Please ANNOUNCE that you are wiping forum passwords so others don't get caught in the same frustration loop I was in

    I doubt this really helps. It could even have the opposite effect. Requiring an account and asking to have bought the game to even read the forum makes it harder for potential customers to form a positive opinion about the game before buying it. I myself was following the forum to see if the Early Access was at a point where I wanted to buy it. I felt disappointed when read access to the forum was shut off to non-registered users. I bought the game anyway because I'm to much of a Ferrari nut. Other people may feel turned away and decide to get it from a torrent. Not all that like the downloaded version will be back to buy it.

    DEChengst, see that from another point of view: we want give direct and prompt support only to Steam users that bought Assetto Corsa. Ok, this will not stop piracy, never said or thinked that, but at least we can waste less time on this support forum with "i'm a hacker because i've downloaded a cracked game" kids.

    Sure, but that's exactly one of the reasons I like to read a forum before putting money in a game. I want to see that there are no major issues that would keep me from playing the game. Also I like to see that the bugs that are in the game are being solved. Maybe KS could choose the middle of the road. Have some of the subfora open for guests and lock the hardcore support subfora behind your Steam account.

    Hehe. I would be careful with that though. What if because of a bug you start falsely accusing people of running a pirated copy? I think a lot of countries have laws against stuff like that.

    I love Assetto, but I think the developers are a little too sensitive to negative criticism, and could easily get unnecessarily upset and distracted by forum trolls, kids and people like me (previously) who didn't read up properly or misunderstood their announcements. If by tying this forum into Steam can keep that nonsense way from them it will be beneficial, and can only speed development and help keep the moral of the developers at a higher level.

    It would have been nice to have been forewarned about this and to have the explanation behind it. You might have also given us less techy folk some instructions as I too spent 20 minutes trying to work out what was going on and what was needed get access again.

    Not impressed tbh.
