1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Real Head Motion, genuine app in AC?

@Minolin unfortunately i dont think console will be able to use this fantastic app. Thats one of the reason that it should be implemented.

Again Plaid said it all :) the main thing of my plug is the "Real Head Motion" part, not all the steering look stuff, that I added only because people asked for it.
If you read really correctly the explanation of post#1 of what I'm simulating, you can't argue I'm wrong, it's based on scientific fact, I worked with a doctor to understand how inner ear was working to move eye balls to filter bumps,etc...
As for The Crew, I made this plug in my personal time, with my personal PC, there's no link with The Crew, Ubi Soft or Ivory Tower, and I would gladly give for free my algorithm to Kunos if he ask me and just put me in the Credits of the game :D

@Minolin and @magicfr: Exactly this. I think its cool how it is now and developed further by the original author seperately from kunos is the better way to go currently. What would be a real addition is the api support of giving the possibility to control the playercam instead of using freePIE and everybody would be happy. thats all.
Sadly the Console users (future) cant use it, but hey, thats still far away and who knows...

It was me who brought that up and I know that but i didnt know how contract with game developers works etc so that was just a thought. :)

Frustratingly the API's halfway there, and unlikely to be updated... you can control the free-camera in some ways by python (pretty much maps to the key controls of it), but last I looked there's no way to get the current location of the camera, or even the direction the car's traveling, so no way to build up a 'relative' model of movement. Also can't change the FOV from what I could tell, which is inconvenient app-wise since F7 just stays in the FOV of the last camera you used.

I think RHM using free head tracking software is actually an advantage for it, it means it works the same in every sim that supports head tracking...

yeah but the advantage of performance to use it natively is not to underestimate. What would be the estimated performance gain @magicfr?

I don't agree, FreePIE is a problem, for people that would like to use RHM (for it's main purpose : filtering ) with a trackIR.
I'd like to see a plugin system like rFactor 2 which is in my opinion the best plugin system of all car sims.

ATM , 90% of CPU used in RHM is to read the shared memory at high frequency to be the most synchronised with AC to avoid stuterring. So the gain would be huge as I would not need to synchronise anything with a C++ DLL plugin like in rFactor, where it's the sim that call your plug at the right time.

I'm not sure if the console UI can run classical apps (native or pyApps) at all. If this would work, then it might be a point, yes.
But honestly I don't care for consoles. They've ruined too many games for me so far. May they be a cash cow so Kunos can buy EA.

This is something else (than most people think they ask for) and should maybe be considered by the Lord, although I can't estimate the effort behind it.
And you probably already deserve your name there :D

Writing a polite PM or mentioning it on the sunday QA? Well the Lord is full with work to the roof, but maybe it could find a slot for a review or a look into somewhere.

I already have his e-mails we spoke together since long time on physics forums and stuff ;) he already knows about it, like you said, for him,RHM is a very low prio and it's totally legit :)

magicfr, do you have the latest real settings to use with your app, but which are only based on the things you researched, so without the extra "arcade" effects you mentioned. ty!

This. I have the privilege to use it afterall. :D

While that shouldn't be necessary, nearly all seem to have driven cars irl otherwise a bicycle or at least jogged every now and then. My mountainbike tours would have been rather unpleasant besides far more dangerous without this "feature" :D.

No arcade-effects. The mainpurpose is how the view reacts to the cars movements, considering how our body manages it that we can focus on a spot while we move.
I personally set the both top sliders to 100%, cause it feels natural to me (isnt that more less default?).
What you mean are the other features like steeringlook etc.. You usually need to activate them before they work.

When they are going to release it on consoles anyway they should do the best they can with the release. Even if its not possible to use apps on consoles, which I dont see why it wouldnt, they could implement it in options.
And if apps wont be supported there is a lot of apps that they will need to have in the regular options screen anyway, like track map, rev counter etc etc.
