1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Always backed ACC using the Unreal engine, but lately the more I use AMS2 the Madness engine looks so good now..

    I'd be a bit surprised to see Kunos switch to a competitors engine. I think it's probably unreal or one of their own creation. I've been wrong before though.

    Looks can be deceiving — while I think the Madness engine looks great I'm yet to be convinced in either PC2 or AMS2 with a consistent driving experience. All personal pref ofc.

    In terms of a business model too you have invested so much into Unreal and made learnings, sometimes it's better the devil you know.

    The Madness Engine has a lot of limitations in terms of AI unfortunately. Reiza has been tweaking the AI since forever and they're still weird.

    AFAIK they're still trying to design their own engine again first, if it doesn't work out they will switch to UE again. Atleast, I'm pretty sure that's what Massarutto said.
    And please, DO NOT switch to the madness engine, it's crap. Doubt Kunos would even consider this tbh.

    To me ACC graphics look more "life like". AMS2, and also the Project Cars games have this slight "cartoony" look or something. It just looks off to me, like from the AMS2 screenshots you can fairly easily tell that it is a game. Now i don't know if it just the art style choice, but considering other Madness engine games have the same trait i imagine it has something to do with the graphics engine. AMS2 does look really good though of course, but ACC has the edge there still.

    I have that same reaction, something in the colour tone mapping, it's a little blown out/instagram style to all the colours that just makes it feel like a game. Saying that I always crank my contrast up in the ACC settings for a little more pop on shadows etc!

    Even after being out of the company for more than 1 year I can say with total confidence that there are exactly 0% possibilities to ever see KS using that engine. At least in this universe/timeline.
